Two adults only in a cabin

We have stayed at the Fort 5 or 6 times in the past and just love in. My son or son and girlfriend have always been with us so the cabin worked great. We are thinking of going in the fall and still want to stay in the cabin but it will only be the 2 of us. I can't stand the thoughts of staying in a hotel room when I can stay in the cabin and have everything I need.
Has anyone stayed with just 2 adults? Would it seem kind of silly to just have the 2 of us in a cabin? Hubby thinks it is kind of a waste to do...

Any opinions?
Thanks

If you like staying at the Fort you might want to investigate some of the threads that rent a camper or an RV. It's probably not as expensive as a cabin and you get the Fort experience. But you would have to book the site and the camper so you would have two issues to balance.

The rental camper issue has become more realistic lately. I've never done it (got my own) but use the Search function and ask questions of folks who have done it.

And then again, a cabin for two would be SWEET. :worship:

We did a romance package for 2 at the cabins. Bring along some flowers, bubbly, chocolate and bubble bath. :love2:

We also have stayed in a cabin (just the two of us):thumbsup2 and had a great time.It was wonderful, andpricey but at the time it was just what we needed.
Remember it is more private than the campsites so I also would recommend looking into renting a RV . If you like the privacy you will enjoy it

Thanks everyone.
We were looking at renting a trailer but don't think we want to do that. I figured by the time you pay for it, plus the site, it will add up. I always get the AAA discount on a cabin, then when the discount codes come out, I always get that. So it wouldn't be a whole lot more for the cabin and I would gain so much more. We have 40ft. park trailer and I know I wouldn't be comfortable in a small trailer - just spoiled I guess. The cabins may still be the way to go....

Thanks

It's always just my husband any myself and we love the cabins and don't feel we're wasting our money or the space.

I love that it's my own little house in the middle of Disney, and that's all that really matters.

My youngest daughter (17) and I are staying in a cabin over Spring Break. It just pains me to think of staying in a regular hotel room when there are perfectly good cabins at the Fort. It also helps for this trip that my oldest daughter is a Disney College Program participant so I'm getting 50% off the rate on the cabin.:thumbsup2

thanks everyone. I also just can't think about a small hotel room after staying in the cabins. It is just so nice to have a home away from home.
I don't cook alot but love to get up and have coffee and breakfast while we watch the news and get ready to go.
Glad I am not alone feeling like this...

. . . Has anyone stayed with just 2 adults? . . .

1) MrsRustyScupper and myself stayed in a cabin in Dec-2012.
2) This was a Cancer-Free celebration for her.
3) We had a ball !!!
4) It was nice having a whole place for just the two of us.
5) Together, we
. . . strolled
. . . did Crockett's Tavern
. . . rode boats with nowhere special to go
. . . it was nice "BEING KIDS" again
5) There were also four other guys from our ad hoc folk group at FW. *
. . . I play banjo (average)
. . . we also had guitars, basses, fiddles
. . . we played bluegrass and "old time" folk music four nights of five
. . . had lots of folks gather around and sang with our tunes

* We are a pick-up jam group. You show up, you get to play. How
good or bad is not an issue. Unless it rains, we meet IN A PARKING LOT
every Friday night about 30-min from Disney.

I am glad you and Mrs RustyScupper had such a wonderful reason to go and so happy you 2 were able to relax and enjoy the fort.
Your pick up band sounds like a lot of fun..

My DH and I stayed in a cabin in 2003 and since then have been back every year. We would not stay any place else. We are senior citizens and use a discount every time and don't feel strange staying at all.We have the best, why stay in a little cramped room with people on top and right next to us. You will love it.

It really is. Just ckick the underlined references above and see us . . .
1) Fascinating
2) Could you kindly name three of your favorite musical influences off the top of your head, Mr. Scupper ?
3) In the video, which one is you ?

1) Fascinating
. . . thanks
. . . it is strictly a pick-up group
. . . sometimes 3-4 folks, sometimes 7-9 folks
. . . you show, you play

2) Could you kindly name three of your favorite musical influences off the top of your head, Mr. Scupper ?
. . . Earl Scruggs (for 3-finger)
. . . Pete Seeger (for clawhammer)
. . . Steve Martin, yes, the comedian (just for fun playing)

NOTE: I learned a lot from Pat Costello on how play Clawhammer-style.

If you want to stay in a cabin, stay in a cabin. I've stayed there solo several times and didn't feel like my cabin was a poor value. It's all in what you want out of your trip. When I want to really get away from it all (but can't REALLY get away) I stay in a cabin at FW.
