I sometimes see people post their travel plans on the main board and ask for suggestions. I’m not looking for suggestions, but I want to show another example of how two adults in their mid-30’s with no kids can easily entertain themselves for a week. Here’s our plan:

Saturday

Afternoon Arrival: Head straight to Epcot.

Ride Test Track (now possible for late arrivals due to FP+)

Eat at Food & Wine and see Night Ranger perform. A lot of people say that going to Food & Wine on a Saturday is insane. First, I don’t mind long lines. We buy one F&W item and get in line at the next kiosk and eat while we are waiting in the next line. The event is about eating and enjoying the Florida weather one last time before winter, so I don’t let lines ruin my mood. Second, the extra drunk people on the weekend are annoying, but if someone is drunk, just move on.

Two other tips: Don’t think about the costs. I’m not saying that money doesn’t matter. But load up a wristband and enjoy yourself. Food & Wine is only once a year, and we spend as much as we would at a nice sit-down restaurant. You should budget to spend significant money here, but if you let yourself go and eat whatever you want, this is one of my favorite events of the whole year.
Ride Spaceship Earth on way out. (Have to do this every time!)

Check into cheap hotel between Disney and Universal

Sunday

Check into Universal Hotel and get Front of the Line pass. We’re staying in an expensive Universal hotel for 2 days and that means 3 days of Front of the Line pass.

Sun-Tue

See New Harry Potter, Despicable Me, Transformers, and new Simpsons area, everything they opened since we were last at Universal.

Tuesday Night

Check in at Art of Animation, Little Mermaid Room. This is our first time in the AoA hotel.

Wed

Head to Magic Kingdom. Ride 7DMT, see Festival of Fantasy Parade for first time, play Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom Card game, and whatever else strikes us (Big Thunder, Jungle Cruise, ect.)

Park Hop to Epcot for more Food & Wine and to see Smash Mouth.

Thur

Sleep in because of evening plans. Head to Animal Kingdom, ride Safari, see if Lion King show is different, look for Devine and Bamboo (I’ve never been able to catch them), ride Expedition Everest.

MNSSHP: This event took a big leap of faith on my part. I thought without kids we would hate it, but we dress in costumes, and meeting other people in costumes is so entertaining. This year we’re going as Candace Flynn and Jeremy Johnson from Phineas and Ferb.

Fri

We will possibly head to a water-park, depending on the weather. We mainly just like to sit on the lazy river and relax.

Food & Wine, Jim Brickman, you'll notice that we do quite a bit of park hopping. We didn't do this on our first few trips, but after you've been a few times, you just want to hit your favorite activities.

Saturday

Hollywood Studios. Ride Toy Story Mania standby and FP+, see the Frozen Singalong (new to us). Take drawing class. (The Drawing Class is one of our favorite activities. I can’t draw at all, but they do such a good job that we somehow come out with pictures that look like the characters.)

Park hop to Food & Wine, see Los Lonely Boys. You’ll note that on an eight night schedule, we are hitting Food & Wine on four nights.

Sunday

7 Dwarves Mine Train one more time, Peter Pan, say goodbye to the Magic Kingdom and head home.

One issue, there is not a standby line for Toy Story Mania anymore. They are ONLY doing FP+ for this ride.

I didn't know that, either. One you have used your three FP+ for the day, will they let you get a second FP+ for Toy Story Mania that day, after you have already been on it once that day with an earlier FP+?
