We'll be visiting WDW in Oct. My DD 17 YO and myself have been to WDW many times but my DD's friend has never been. However, we haven't been in a couple of years. I've eaten at quite a few of the Disney resturants but now that I have 17 YO's I'm not sure which resturants would be the best places to eat that they would really enjoy. They are not shy nor are they too 'mature' for Disney so I'm not worried about that part. My DD and my favorite is SiFi Dine In and we'll be eating there one day for lunch. Do you have any other suggestions as to what Disney resturants would be good for a 17 YO's first visit?

Ohana's, 50's PT, Sci Fi Diner, Rainforest Cafe(not on DP) trying to think 17 but thats almost 15 yrs ago for me..lol

Thanks Tasha...ahhh...it's been a little longer than 15 years for me....hate to admit it though and obviously can't hide the fact since I have a 17 YO now can I? Darn! :hippie:

Okay I admit 17 was 11 years ago for me, but let's see if I can remember what I would have liked then.

Coral Reef
Teppanyaki (especially if there is no japanese steakhouse that you go to near where you live)
Boma
Maybe a character meal, though most 17 year olds might feel too old for one.
Maybe try a signature dining place, a nice place to eat as a 17 year old and almost adult (Jiko, Artist Point, California Grill, Flying Fish, or Citricos maybe).

I'd go for a character meal for ANY first timer, no matter what their age! Some of these have already been mentioned, but I'd opt for 50's Prime Time, 'Ohana, maybe Whispering Canyon ... Chef Mickey's if you're thinking outside the parks for character experiences.

If the girls want to go a little more "fru-fru" (I know mine did/does), tabrizia had some great suggestions. Maybe Chefs de France of Alfredo's in Epcot.

I have socks that are 17 years old. *sigh*. It's a crime to have a 17-year-old spirit trapped in a geezer's body.

17 yr old socks???? Wow, Id say its time for new ones! Just teasin! They sure dont make socks like they use to, socks dont last more than 6 months with my two kids..lol

17 wasn't that long age for me and I love sci fi, 50's, Park fare, GF cafe, Brown derby, coral reef, and le cellier. good stuff. chances are they will like anything and just be happy to be at DISNEY! :bounce:

For my 16yo princess, no trip to WDW is complete without an afternoon at High Tea at the Grand Floridian!

She also like California Grill to view the MK fireworks.

Boma's is ever popular, and she is anxious to try Blue Zoo!

Hope she finds a real prince...she has rich tastes!

At 17, tea at the GF, the Plaza in MK, Coral Reef, and Sci-Fi would have all been perfect. It's been 11 years, but I can still remember 17.

All these suggestions sound good, unless they're the type of girls going through a "salad" phase (I remember having friends like that, who ate salads for every meal :( )

You can always let them think they're doing the character interactions for YOUR sake -- I bet they get into it anyway!

I'm going with two 17 year old girls in July, and they looked at the menus and chose Liberty Tree Tavern ("we love turkey and mashed potatoes") and San Angel. Don't know how it will turn out, but they seem to think they're going to like it. ;)

I'll be sure to report back after. :)

Thanks everyone for your ideas/suggestions!

They are not salad only eaters...whew...that's good!

I think they'll have fun at a character meal as they are really goofy when they are together...should have some great photo ops with these two!

Grinningghost: I'll look forward to your report after your July trip.

I'm not quite sure who is more excited about this trip me...or the two of them! :dance3:

Thanks everyone,

Vicki

My girls favorite fun character meal is Donald's Breakfastosaurus at AK!
Donald, Mickey, Pluto and Goofy and lots of great fun cast members keep the place in stitches! Worth checking out with a group that age!

I am a 16 year old girl, and I like the following

B&C
Crystal Palace
Tony's Town Square
Alfredo's
Trail's End
GF Cafe
Sci-Fi
