So my mom finally agreed to let me get a facebook last year. But know i kinda want a twitter/myspace cause (ok dont laugh) i want to talk to clebritys. I know alot of them have twitters and myspace and actually talk to their fans but my mom wont let me get one! I think it is unfare. i mean i get she is trying to keep me safe but really! i really want to convince her to let me get one! any advice is uber welcome :)

On Twitter, you can make your account to private, so you can choose who follows you. If someone wants to follow you, they'll send an invitation and you can accept or decline it. I don't know anything about Myspace though.

On MySpace you can keep your profile private. Meaning that if someone clicks on your profile they won't be able to see much at all. You can also have it where the person has to know your email or last name to add you as a friend.

Ok... I'm not allowed to have either.. I used to have a facebook, but i think that it is pretty dumb. I mean we have cell phones, and everything. Also about twitter.. twitter is not a chat. im pretty sure it is like a 1 way thing, otherwise it would be like IM or something. On myspace, you can make your profiles private, but hackers can find a way no matter what. ummm also on myspace you have to aprove messages, which is a plus, but honestly i dont think it is worth it...i mean fb is addicting in itself.

I know this isnt want you want to hear but your mom is right. Twitter and myspace are really unsafe compared to facebook

Myspace is really a waste of time.
Its confusing, plus a lot of weirdos are on it.
But if you really want it, tell your mom you will set it as private and don't except friend requests from random people.
If that doesnt work, and you really want it, let your mom have your password so she can see what you are doing.
A wile a go, I persuaded my mom to let me get facebook, but she would only if she could see my password, because she wants to see what I'm doing.
Twitter, I think is harmless. Just set your account as private, and don't accept random follower requests. Also, don't put things up like your phone number, address, etc. up. People find ways to view private accounts.
If you don't do stupid things, you should be fine.

Or let her have her own account so she can check up on you that way.

I highly dislike Myspace, and the basics of it are pretty similiar to Facebook. If I were a mom, I wouldn't let my child have an account there either.

Twitter is pretty safe, and you can set it to private. Just let your mom have the password and she can check up on how you're updating.

Honestly, it's nothing special though. Don't worry about. :)

thats what i will probably do. everyone is soo helpful. ya myspace confuses me!

Question: Can i have a private conversation on twitter?

I agree. I have all 3 but I prefer facebook.

::yes::

Celebrities on Twitter ususally just update what they are doing. sometimes they @ reply but its not as common as we all wish.
Celebrities with Myspace really only post blogs to like promote what new projects they have instead of like..life.
but thats just some.

I always reply to Travis Clark's twitter updates. He never replies, but that doesn't bother me. I don't expect him to. xD They can still read it, though. If they click that @ button they can read every twitter that was directed towards them.

Plus, celebrities probably get tons of messages from fans on MySpace. Heck, a few celebrities haven't even accepted my friend request yet. They're too busy in their lives to answer questions. I'm not saying that they won't ever answer, but if they would, I think they'd answer on twitter than MySpace.

Hah yeah. I reply to people too.

Depends on who you follow. I haven't seen Miley Cyrus reply to anyone except other celebrities when I look at her page. Stephen Fry tends to reply to people often.

Alan Davies gave me a reply a few days ago when I asked him about whether G.O.L.D. pays him for showing Jonathon Creek (as Dave doesn't pay him for showing QI)

okk and one more question: Can you have a private conversation on myspace? honestly right now i just wanna talk to this one guy who is not a real big celeb yet and i know tons of ppl who talk to he on myspace cuz hes on alot and stuff.
