Hey All,
I know you all did your very best to try to calm my nerves about this ride but I just can't help it, I am still terrified to go on it (BUT I WILL!!! )
Anyways, I still have a couple of questions I was wondering if you lovely people might be able to answer for me.
Is the ride very wet? I've heard that if you stand in the back you get the least of the effects. But then I heard that if you stand in the back you will get quite wet! Anyone know what is the truth of the matter?
Another question I have is can you take pictures during the show? I mean, I know you probably can't during the tornado but as for the rest? I have to prove that I actually got on it to win a bet! Any other info would be awesome! Thanks again guys!

I dont think you'd be able to take any good pictures.

This is the most unscary ride.. it isn't even a ride.. you pretty much just stand there and watch the "twister". There are some special effects, but nothing bad. I mean, there are no seats, windows, harnesses, etc. It's just a viewing thing.. go ahead and watch it! You're gonna kick yourself for even being a little scared when it's all said and done.

And if you get wet, it'll be a teeny bit. I've never gotten more than a few drops on me.

Stacy, I am completely and 100% terrified of tornadoes -- it's truly a phobia of mine. I have unfortunately been in a couple of real (smallish) tornadoes and I have to tell you that the attraction part is nowhere near as scary.

However, and this is a really big however... I found the queue and preshow part terrifying. Remember, I don't have just a little apprehension about tornadoes -- it's a full-blown terror. I don't want to give anything away, but forewarned is forearmed. There are tv monitors placed everywhere in the queue showing tornado footage. Then when you enter the preshow, there is an onscreen presentation made by the actors of the movie Twister. I got through that part by very intently studying the shoes of all the people around me and singing "The Song that Never Ends" over and over again inside my head! And under no circumstances should the people you are with constantly ask you if you are ok My ride buddies did that and it made me more nervous than if they had just let me quietly scrutinize their footwear.

Definitely go on it though! I am very proud of myself for conquering my fear, and I have since been on it 2 more times. I still can't watch the preshow stuff, but I managed to brave standing in the front row the last time I went there!

Oh! (Sorry this is so long!) I don't know if you'd be able to take any photos while the attraction is in operation, but I would think that you'd be able to take a really quick "proof" picture of you in front of the set before you get herded out. As for getting wet, I can't really remember getting wet. I just remember feeling so exhilarated that I made it through that I could have been soaked to the bones and probably not noticed!

Watch the movie "Twister" before you go!It will aclimate you to the "ride".It is not really a ride.You stand and watch some special effects.One of my favorites!!

Theres a few loud noises and lots of good special effects, and thats what makes it scary but really its not that bad and like people said, it's not a ride, you're just standing watching it.

One thing you may want to do is after you go through the last preshow room that looks like youre in a house hit by a tornado, take the far left door, that way you'll be at the back row of the little theater like area.

When we entered the 'viewing' area, we were in the very back row. I happened to notice the floor was rather wet, so thinking ahead, I stood all the way with my back against the wall while DS and DH leaned on the railing. Well, DH got quite a bit of water on his back, so I'm guessing the water shoots out from the back (I didn't get wet as I was standing all the way against the back under a small awning). You may get a little wet, but not a soaking. If you have a fear, ask to stand all the way at the rear!

Definitely worth going. It's amazing that they can recreate a tornado as they do. As the others have said, it's not frightening.

I want to thanks you guys so much for all of your understanding and tips! Though I haven't been through such devastation from weather as many people have, my fear is real and I appreciate you taking me seriously.
