Twister and Disaster= same?

Just curious---- is the Twister ride and the Disaster ride very similar? I'm just trying to get a sense of it. Disaster looks like Backlot Tours at DHS- is this accurate?

I'm just getting excited for our first US trip in April and have started to look at the rides online!!!!

No they are totally different
Twister is like being in the movie and have effects like a twister and Disaster is like your being in a movie that is being filmed but it ends up like you are on a subway train in a tunnel but both are good shows

No they are not the same. Twister is basically a "walk through" attraction where after a short pre-show video you walk through a scene from the movie to another scene where you end up in the middle of a twister. Disaster is the old Earthquake attraction. You first have the pre-show then head to the ride itself - a subway train where they are filming an earthquake scene for a movie.

Disaster is part show, with involvement with the audience, and part ride at the end. It shows how they make a scene from a disaster movie, but until the very end you might not realize how the show part is connected together with the ride part. If you have a good TM for the show part, its a very good overall attraction. Twister shows some films clips from the movie, narrated by the stars of the movie, and at the end you enter a room which attempts to simulate how it would feel to be close to an actual tornado.

My wife was in the disaster movie, that was fun for her. We have it on Youtube somewhere. It's fun to do once, more than once if you are trying for a part but we always skip it now. Too much time wasted for a short ride at the end.
