For all of those out there like DW and myself, who would like to avoid the cheerleaders this year, Twirl Mania is taking place on Feb. 18th to the 21st, and The Contest of champions cheer, studio, and dance/drill nationals are taking place Feb. 25th to the 27th, and Mar. 4th to the 6th. I will not start a discussion about the pros and cons dealing with the cheer leading crowds, I'm just offering the info for those who wish to avoid WDW during those periods. :cheer2: :guilty:

I was there last year during the Cheerleading competition. At first, I thought it was kind of adorable. And then, it turned into a nightmare (kind of like Small World  ). Those girls would wander around the parks in matching jackets, sizing up other teams like a cheap version of West Side Story. They screamed through every ride (and believe me, those girls could scream). Then, they'd practice their cheers on the bus. It reminded me of when the cicadas returned.
I have nothing against cheerleaders or cheerleading. I like cheerleaders. But this year I'll be skipping those weeks.

I could not have said it better. Thanks.

I remember the year we were there during a cheer competition. My DS was only 10 or 11 years old. He found all the skinny bikini-clad cheerleaders at the Caribbean Beach pool an annoyance. Now that he's 17, I think he'd vote to stay at the pool and forget about the parks! ;)
