A friend at work is expecting twins (boys). Does anyone have an idea for a cute gift? I've never done a shower gift for twins before, and could go with just clothes, supplies, etc., but was looking for something a bit special. I already have a double photo frame that says "Twice as Nice" and need something to go with it. I'm looking for non-homemade ideas (shower is next week!) Thanks for any help you can give!

If you want to do something that will have an heirloom quality to it you could do silver spoons and mom can have them engraved later.

I gave my sister lots of packages of diapers for her baby shower. I know she will be using them.

I always went nuts for the coordinating outfits when my twins were infants. If I took the trouble to get everyone clean and dressed and out the door, it was an event, and I wanted them looking cute!! I figured it's such a short time that you can actually dress them alike without "lasting damage," so I took advantage.
the Excedrin can't hurt either!:rotfl:

I was never really into the whole twin thing, but I loved funny twin onsies and tshirts! I saved them all (like the HE DID IT SHE DID IT with arrows).

Talking to some of the parent friends I have they always loved bath supplies, powder, diapers, bag balm, A & D ointment, etc. They are things that always use and cuts down on their expenses as well.

As a twin mom, who is hosting a shower for a new twin mom next week, I can tell you the best gift is either diapers, or premade meals. A twin parent will change over 5000 diapers in the first year alone, so diapers are a great gift that will be MUCH appreciated. Eating well is so important so that mom has the energy, but often times there just isnt time to make anything.... giving a GC to a place in your area that makes premade meals, or throwing together some spaghetti sauce that can go in the freezer, is a great idea.

As of mom of twins - I'd give something practical and useful. Diapers, GC for Babies R Us, etc.... - trust me, that is special when you have twins to provide for.

When we had a shower for my brother's wife, we asked everyone to bring a package of diapers to help build a diaper mountain since they would be "changing a mountain of them". They got @62 packages of varying sizes. They went through them in the blink of an eye! So I second the diapers idea. Also, gift cards to pizza places/delivery places near them were a godsend especially when the babies were up every 3 hours and not at the same time...lol

A gift card out to dinner with offer to babysit so mom and dad can get out and have an hour break sometime within the first 3 months!

We used to buy the same outfit in two different colors for our twin boys (they are identical so it was easy for relatives to match a name with whatever color they were wearing that day).

I always make a "clothes" line with clothes from newborn up to 18-24 months. I just like the way it looks and it gives a "wow" factor, in addition to the necessities such as diapers, and wipes!
