Twin size air mattress in reno'd POP rooms?

So, can one fit, or not? Has anyone had any experience? We are staying value with DD 17 and DS 16, so we will definitely need to have the air mattress. We've done it several times in an All Star room, but wondered about the new POP rooms. Thanks all!

Best bet is no. I've stayed in them 4+ times.

Those queen beds have eaten up a TON of space.

If it is a must, I would book an Allstar or AoA LM room.

Or have parents split up and share with same sex child - we have done that.

You may find more info and measurements in this thread ...

Did find this post ...

2 adults, 2 teens. We stayed in new room last summer. The plan was to have DS sleep on air mattress, DH & I in queen, DD in murphy. There was no way an air mattress would fit in any of the wall floor spaces. There is little floor space at all when the murphy bed is down. None between the beds. Near the door there was not enough room unless you wanted to be under the murphy bed. Since my teens don't sleep in the same bed (different sexes) so the new rooms weren't an upgrade for us. I prefer the old layout where you could move the table and chairs if needed.

You might be able to fit it right by the window. I wouldn't want to sleep on one in those rooms though. They are tiny and if there is any rain at all the floors will get SO dirty.

We were there in Feb and they were pressure washing the hallways. Water pooled all over the walkways and there was mud everywhere. There's no way you would catch me sleeping on the floor. We had a first floor room so maybe a higher floor would be better but man was it gross!

Thanks, HopperFan. I tried digging all through that thread, but it's a lot to try to find it. I feel like I remember someone posting that maybe right next to the door, but I couldn't find any confirmation or rebuttal :) No one wants to share a bed with DS-he's used to a queen all to himself, and he's a kicker. Maybe we'll have to stay in an All Star after all. Very first trip in 2008 was at POP, so before one heads off to college, we thought it might be fun to end up there again...

OK, looking over all the pictures. Can you slide the dresser? I feel like the air mattress might fit under the TV if the dresser pushed over toward the bathroom....

We've done it before. The air mattress we have sits off the floor about two feet, so it's not quite as crazy low as a thin one. We're looking at August, so there will likely be rain daily :)

A twin size fits over by the window in front of the fridge. During the day, we'd just lean it up onto the wall to save space during the day, as there was def no room to walk around the room or open the door or fridge with it on the floor. We had a 2nd floor bldg 2.

I would worry about scratching the floor, and having to pay for it to be fixed.

I asked the same question about the mattress and was told it would be next to impossible. I would switch to an All Star where you know you will have the space.

So did you have a twin size mattress in the new room? Just checking because we are considering moving here.

So you have actually fit a twin air mattress in new room? Ours is higher off the floor too.

We have had a twin size in a refurb room, bldg 2. Just a flat one (not the double high), on the floor near the window. If it helps, we have the Target Embark brand single high one that is around $15 (maybe 8 or 9 inches tall). We could not get the angled door all the way open with the mattress down (not a big deal though), his head was in front of the drink fridge. I can't totally remember, but I think the corner edge was a bit under the murphy bed as well, so I don't think a double height would fit. The front wall of the room where the window was is at a slight angle, so the mattress isn't straight, if you know what I mean. It was totally fine for sleeping, but you definitely can't leave it down all day and still move about the room.

I recently bought an inflatable sleeping pad for camping, so if we travel with the same tween boy/girl cousin team again, we'll probably use that. For ease of packing, as well as for the space saving.

Thanks so much , this helps A LOT. We do have a double high one, but I can go grab a different one. She is 8 so thinks sleeping on air mattress is cool still. ( I also bring a memory foam topper). We have DVC so we are used to bringing it when we stay in studios. She said the air mattress with the topper is more comfortable than the pull out sofas that’s her brother sleeps on.

I thought that building 2 was the one building that has not yet started being renovated?

Eep! YES, you are totally right- we were in the 90's building, FLOOR 2 not bldg. 2, the first building completed. We were there right after it completed. :)

No worries, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't confused because I'm looking at staying in the 50's section in mid-July and have been watching the renovation progress closely.

The easiest solution would be for parents to split up and sleep with same sex child. Problem solved.

Yeah, no one wants to sleep w/ my 12yo. He sprawls and kicks in his sleep. That said, the 16yo will suck it up for WDW! (I need an evil smilie)

It’s not always parents and their own children in the same room- our trip was me, husband, 12 yr old daughter and 13 yr old male not-really a cousin. While close, there was no way the 2 of them wanted to share a bed :)
