Hi back Melissa
I'm 41.
I've seen the movie once.
I am on my first reading of all the books. I am a Twilight neophyte/newborn.
I still have about 200 pages of Breaking Dawn to go & am I the only one who thinks it's a bit out there?

Maybe it will grow on me.
Melanie,
I totally thought Breaking Dawn was
sorta out there in many ways. I saw some things coming and rolled my eyes more in that book than in any of the others. I still liked it, but I understand where you're coming from. I thought areas of all the books had their moments of "oh brother"-ness and I was/am not a worshipper of the series, per se (per se...

Everytime I hear that I laugh now becuse of South Park). I did like the books alot and they had a strong affect on me for some reason. I find the whole
phenomenon that is
this series really interesting.
I didn't realize until ater looking around on some other boards/websites etc that Breaking Dawn seemed to be the least well received book of the series. What I think happened is that the first three came out and then there was a fan base and the fans started to sort of get ideas in their head about what should happen.... But then Stephanie took a break and wrote The Host and it gave people time to stew about what they thought Breaking Dawn should be about. Then it was "anticipated" and there was alot of negative reception.
(Melanie, the following statement is not directed at you
I'M NOT CLAIMING TO KNOW ALL SO PLEASE NO HATE MAIL ABOUT WHAT IM SAYING HERE BEING WRONG AND STUPID! ....(sometimes people go nuts if you pose your opinion so I thought I'd interject that.. sorry... ok moving on)...
So what I kinda of gathered was that some people thought the author wrapped things up too neatly.
For ME I thought it was ok... didn't bother me too much BUT it may be because I read all the books right in a row with no time to stew.
That's my opinion. I will invoke my privelege of ignoring anybody who is mean to me about having it.
I never did one of those before-I'm just a lurker and compulsive reader of trip reports
We loved DL but then again, what's not to like?
Maybe if I can find some time soon (between kids' holiday concerts and work), I'll see what I can come up with!
I hope you do... you will be amazed how much fun it is to relive your adventure.
It was very funny Travelmel, as someone behind me in theater during prom scene said that they had seen pictures on the internet of the actual place from someone who had gone to event there ... figured that they must be refering to you! FamousMel!

You should have turned around and said, "Chubby older lady in a blood red shirt???? I KNOW HER!!"
Mel.... you ARE famous!!!!!!
That is SO funny! You know there were at least 100 people in attendance over the two evenings that they held the prom.. maybe it wasn't me???
But... it probably was!
Ha!

Too funny. Thanks for sharing that tidbit, SSB! I really got a kick outta that.
I am again so happy to find all of you. Does anyone want to fill me in on the blooper things? I am going back for my 2nd time this weekend with my BF and don't want to miss a thing. I am sorry I have not been able to read all the threads. My age beats all here, I have a FT job and 2 very active kids. A little help would be appreciated!

Which blooper things? I didn't catch alot of the stuff but from what I understand there are a couple of things people are talking about.
1) when the Cullens are taking Bella away w/o Edward to hide from James ... When Edward is saying goodbye and Bella is in the car he mouths (silently) "I love you" but this is debated.
2) In the hospital scene when Bella wakes up from being attacked by James there is a TV in the back ground playing the video of the ballet studio
Most likely there are many others but those are the two things I remember. You might want to try "twilightmoms.com" they have a board/thread for just about EVERY TOPIC you can imagine! I'm sure there is "bloopers" or whatnot. Sometimes IMDB.com will post "Trivia or Inconsistencies" about a movie as well. Hope that helps!
