I've been sick and am not a big TV person, so my sister suggested I buy Twilight to read...I was instantly hooked! I read all 4 books plus the portion of Midnight Sun available online and am now anxiously awaiting the movie (even though the actor looks nothing like how I pictured Edward in my mind)! Any others sharing my new obsession?
My DD8 wants me to read them to her. I am a little concerned, though, because as much as I love, Love, LOVE the Edward/Bella romance -- he is very controlling and it might send her the wrong message about appropriate behavior in a relationship. Any thoughts?

Granted one night I stayed up until almost 12:30am and hated myself for it the next day but I do that when I really enjoy a book. I will be getting the next one, or two, this weekend! I loved reading the Anne Rice Vampire chronicles many moons ago so this book was a must read for me.

I guess they could rip her decision making skills for trying to hang with vamps......
For lack of more eloquent words-that would suck!
I think that's part of Edward's charm to her. She spent her whole life taking care of Renee, and then Charlie. Finally, someone's coming to her rescue and taking care of her. Actually, I think she is a great character -- brave, selfless, good-hearted. Without too many spoilers, the only thing I don't like about Bella is how she turns selfless into self-destructive in the later books, and I don't just mean the extreme sports.
