Are teens (and adults) so under-read that they think this stuff is good?

Yep!

You may think that these are horribly written books, but to me they aren't. I may think the masterfully written books you like are awful. It's all about what you like. Different strokes for different folks.

There are so many more masterfully written young adult novels out there! Are teens (and adults) so under-read that they think this stuff is good?

I guess it just really gets on my nerves.

It's getting on my nerves that, people tend to attack the intelligence of those who do like these books.

I'm tired of hearing about how she butchers the English language. If misplaced semicolons are that distracting to them, I don't know how they read the disboards.

I like Jane Eyre and Othello as much as the next person, and that doesn't mean I'm above Twilight.

People are allowed to not like these books, just lay off on the attacks of those who do.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

ETA: My mom works in a high school library and just pointed something out. Who cares if these are well written or enjoyable to ALL. They are enjoyable to enough and in schools it means that kids are actually reading because they enjoy the book. And kids who read have better grades (that's statisically proven). Reading enriches the mind.
