I haven't been keeping up with this thread.

Does anyone know if Stephanie has decided to go ahead with Edward's book, or is it still a no go?

The official word is on "on hold indefinitely". This was a change from a snowball's chance in Hades (in other words, definitely not finishing it.) I think the fact that she qualified that in her response is an important distinction. I have a feeling that she will finish it eventually, once everything calms down.

I am currently working on my first independent novel (have been published in some poetry compilations and a Chicken Soup book), and no matter how often I get sidetracked or things happen that make me put it on hold, I always return to it. I can't not write it, even if it is just in my head at the moment. I don't know that this is true for all authors, but I would hazard to guess that it is similar.

I'm pretty sure she will get back to it eventually, but she needs a long break. She's been through a lot of bad times very quickly over the last month.

I am working on an extreme long essay on Edward, Bella and their relationship. More for myself than anyone else, I have very strong views and opinions when it comes to both characters and their relationship and I want to express them by writing. It's very long so far and I'm getting sidetracked by lots of school work, but I will post a link as soon as I'm done with it so you can all read it. :goodvibes

My biggest worry is Bellas Lullabye...I really hope it sounds good...I feel for Rob...I wonder if he really realizes the burden that he is having to carry by writing this song...we are expecting it to be as big as the movie itself:rolleyes:

He's not writing it anymore. The scene was recently re-shot with Rob playing the piece the composer for the movie did.

Saw this on People.com today...

Paramore Records Two Songs for Twilight Film
By Jessica Gold Haralson

Paramore's Hayley Williams is a huge fan of the Twilight phenomenon – and now she's a part of it!

"Twilight really caught my attention and held it. I'm really excited to see the book adapted to film and excited that our band gets to be a part of the phenomenon," Williams said, in a statement Friday to MTV News, confirming the band will have two songs on the soundtrack for the upcoming Twilight movie.

Williams has posted multiple photos of herself with the vampire-themed novels and blogged extensively about her love for the Stephanie Meyers-penned books and says she's more than happy about the collaboration.

"Twilight is the first series of books I've ever read. I didn't get into the Harry Potter series, even though I love the movies," she said.

The Twilight movie, starring Kristen Stewart as shy teenager Bella Swan and Robert Pattinson as her vampire paramour Edward, will be in theaters Nov. 21.

yuck yuck yuck...no. Doesn't fit, not a good choice..

I wouldn't be surprised, though, if she really does end it differently than how the original story ends. There is some value in writing a new story, a darker story, one that doesn't jive with the sweetness-and-light that Meyer wove into the original.

Thanks for all the updates! I had no idea SM was on Ellen and Paramore will do some songs for the soundtrack! I love them!!

Bicker, I can't see her ending it differently, the point of the book is that it is Twilight from Edward's perspective, therefore the events must match. You can't do a book like that and then completely change the ending! I doubt she would like it, and I have a feeling the publishers would have something to say about it.

I think writing a book that ends differently is actually a lot more interesting than writing a book that ends the same way.

Bicker: But the point of rewriting "Twilight" through Edward's perspective, is that the only thing that changes is that you're no longer seeing it through Bella's eyes, but through Sir Edward's. If you change something, it no longer becomes the same 'fairytale romance'. It's kinda required to end the same way, for, if it doesn't, then it's not just a change in perspective, but plot, too, and that's not the point of it all.

Of course, since it is Meyer's story, what the point of it is is really up to her.

Anybody else think the during Eclipse, Edward started to "sound" like Capt. Jack Sparrow? He kept calling her "love" a lot and all I could here in my head was Johnny Depp!

Ok, I had to take a break from this thread because I was afraid I would read spoilers. But I finished the series a few weeks ago and I am in :lovestruc !!!

Does anyone still have the link to the chapters of the "Edward's perspective" book? I lost the link. :sad2:
