Thought I'd come to the experts here. Is this book series, in your opinions, okay for my DD12 (almost 13?) I should mention that she loves the Grudge, all horror movies, Buffy, etc. I think I'm just more concerned about any possible sex scenes, etc. She's almost 13 and hasn't had her first kiss yet, so she's a little sheltered in life (no apologies here -- I'm her mom!) :lmao:

No, there's no sex in it.
It's only mentioned in the third book, and I they just hint at it really, I mean it's obvious...
But yeah.
The only time they actually say what it is is along the lines of 'so after we're married you'll sleep with me?'
Not a direct quote.

If anything happens in Breaking Dawn, it will be very... smoothed over? Nothing descriptive... if you've read the first Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants, it'd be like that, they'd hint at it, but not full out say it.

There's no sex, just a little mention to it. A little joking and that kind of thing. Stephenie will most likely smooth things over should anything happen in Breaking Dawn. Things might get a bit steamy, but nothing too descriptive.

they are perfect for her age, the most that happens in the first book is they kiss, and its really about how even just a kiss is special.

^^Totally agree with the above posters.

It's a great book series.

Theres a lot of kissing but no sex. Its only hinted at during Eclipse and as Hilary said it only says 'sleep with me'. Breaking Dawn comes out on August 1 and theres a large possibility that there will text about sex but nothing descriptive.

Thanks so much for your quick responses. Kind of weird that I'm worried about the sex but the violence is okay huh? :rotfl: Looking for new books to keep her interest and I thought these might be a good fit with the whole vampire theme.

The main character doesn't see much violence at all. She mostly hears about it after passing out. There is a bit of violence in the third book, punching a werewolf, and vampires trying to kill an evil vampire.

The violence isnt extremely descriptive but there is violence. An example of the worse would be "One second edwards face was at her neck and then the next second her head was in a tangled mess of hair on the ground"

These books should be fine for her. My 11 year old sister just started reading them, after i did first, and she is absolutely hooked. The first one is just kissing in it.
