Why make one Twilight film when you can charge moviegoers to see two of them?

The funny thing is that most fans of the series feel the 4th book was the WORST of the series, so that's the one they're going to give the detailed treatment to? :confused3

I'm just going off hearsay, though, as I was totally disappointed by the storyline and quality of writing, that I never made it through the series.

Okay, I will admit to reading the books. I also will admit I enjoyed them for what they were, books written for teens for fun and enjoyment. They are not literary masterpieces and no where near some of the best books of this generation. They were good books for when I needed some mindless entertainment because my head was going to explode from school work or my job.

Having said that, the movies are horrible even compared to the books. WHY they want to waste the time and money to split this book up is beyond me. There is just not enough meat to this book to make two movies.

OK - I'll admit it. I'm an adult, and a mom, and a Twilight fan. Not in an obsessive cougar-wearing-a-Taylor-Lautner-t-shirt kind of way, but I liked the books. The movies stink in comparison, but movies usually do when they're adapted from books.

The last book is waaaay longer than the rest, so it kind of makes sense to me to have 2 movies since there is a lot more going on in that book. People will complain if the leave things out and cram the whole book into one movie. Other people will complain about having to wait to see 2 movies for the ending. Can't win either way, so may as well collect money from 2 movies...

I haven't read the last book yet, but i have to agree that they are better than the movies (although I have been quoted of saying the question: do cougars run with wolves? :lmao: ).

The idea of a teen girl being soooooo obsessed with a boy - alive or not - is a bit scary. Is it giving our youngsters the wrong idea?

WOW...that is insane. I only read the first book and that was enough for me.

I totally agree with this quote and would add further that Kristen Stewart is a hot mess and is terrible in Bella's role. :sad2:

Had they known it was going to be this big of a hit, I don't think Kristen Stewart would have gotten the role.

Nonetheless, Stephanie Meyer herself said splitting the 4th book into 2 would be the only way to do it. It's incredibly complex and verrrrrrry long. I actually quit the book halfway through because it was too long, and it took me months to actually finish it. I'm curious to see how Jacob's interpretation will work in a movie.

I'm a sucker, I'll pay to see both movies, but I hope they come out close time-wise to each other because I don't see how else it would work :confused3

Honestly for a young actress with so many roles already, I can only think of one that she was actually good in - Adventureland.

I could not agree with you more.......absolutely no acting ability at all.

I find her acting to be very awkward and lackluster....she should feel very lucky they cast her in movies with such an incredible fan base otherwise she would be non-existent!

I really believe that Stewart would not have been hired in the role if they had realized it would be big enough for them to continue for the series. I have to wonder if Rob Pat may have done better with a more experienced and talented actress to work against. I don't really like him personally, but I have heard that some of his other work is pretty good. Then again, it may just be the writing that he has to deal with...

While book 4 is longer then the others, I still don't think it has enough meat to it to warrant two movies.

Two Twilight movies = double the Edward Cullen for me to luuurve. :lovestruc

It works for me. :lmao:
