After asking on the CB about taking these onboard in my luggage before my trip to Seattle, I forgot to tell ya'll what happened.......
No problem with my luggage going thru security at the terminal, but "I" got randomly selected to be wanded and had to take my shoes off for testing for bomb residue. ( Thank Goodness I was wearing velcro strap sandals.....you'll see why)
Then at the gate, I got randomly selected to be searched as we were in line to board the plane. My carry-ons were searched and I had to be wanded again and take my shoes off again!!!
It's soooo fun to be the object of everyones attention as they wait to board the plane.
I don't like flying for the very reasons above plus the feeling of having no control over what happens to me once I'm aboard, so I spent the flight trying to chill out.
DH and DD told me I just must look evil
Well, I didn't go to evil medical school for nuthin'!
Coming home from Seattle, I set off the metal detector ( even though I had on the exact same things as our arrival flight!)
Carry-ons were no problem, but I was pulled aside to be wanded. So was DH! They were pulling over bunches of people and their weren't enough wands to go around so after waiting for 4 minutes, the security guard asked if it was ok if she frisked me... I wanted to get out of there I said sure! She was nice and apologized for the wait.
I didn't have to take my shoes off either! She just felt the heels and soles. Would I make it on the plane this time without another search? Lined up to get on the plane and YES! I make it on without being searched
Why do I feel like I won the lottery?!
It struck me as funny as we opened our lunch on board (yes a flight with actual food!) that inside was a nice sturdy plastic knife!
I was just happy to be off the plane when we got home.
What worries me more than anything about flying is the condition of the planes. It seems we never fly on anything very new. I know it's safer than driving though. I just wish it weren't a 3 hour ordeal to get on the plane!
If you made it this far, thanks for putting up with a too long story
