Tweetin' a Trip Report!

Hi everyone! I have a terrible, horrible history of starting a PTR or TR and then never finishing it up... post-Disney depression keeps me away from the boards for weeks or months following a trip. I tried for our honeymoon, our spring break trip, our anniversary trip... and even for this, our first holiday at the World. But I never manage to keep up.

So, for this TR, we're trying something new. I'll be tweeting LIVE from WDW! And so will DH, even though he doesn't participate on the DIS. We'll even have photos and video (if DH can figure out the mobile upload) in our tweeted, live report. When we get back, I'll use the tweet history to (hopefully!) put together a real, live TR in this thread.

Trip Overview
Dates: December 27-January 1
Resort: Saratoga Springs (3 studios reserved)
ADRs: 3 - Turf Club on 12/27, Boma on 12/29, and Whispering Canyon Cafe on 12/31.

Cast of Characters
Me. Obviously. I'm a 31-year-old high school history teacher and admitted Disney nut. On Twitter, you'll find me as MichelleL1118 - it's a public profile, so you don't have to be a Twitter member to read along. This is my... uh... 8th trip to Disney, and the 3rd this year!

DH. He's a 27-year-old high school math teacher, and also an admitted Disney nut. On Twitter, you'll find him as JohnMLo - also a public profile. This is DH's 7th trip to Disney, and again, the 3rd this year.

This is us at our wedding 1.5 years ago. It's one of the only pictures I have of us that I like!

MOM. My mom. She's a... well, I better not post her age... high school special education teacher. She hasn't been to Disney since before I was born, so a LOT has changed since she was last there. She'll be using an ECV, as she just had her knee replaced in August.

DAD. My dad. Retired high school special education teacher. Also hasn't been to Disney since before I was born. Dad has several health issues (heart problems, most notably), so his trip will be much more relaxing than the rest of us!

DMIL. DH's mom. Elementary school teacher. Most recently in Disney in 1997, when AK was having a soft opening before official opening day.

DBIL. DH's younger brother. DBIL is 24, and also was last in Disney in 1997.

Supporting Cast
DH's uncle & his fiancee, who live in Tampa. They'll be joining us for dinner tomorrow night, and possibly on NYE as well.

The Plans
Mom, Dad, DH & I will arrive in Orlando around 9:30am tomorrow. DMIL & DBIL should arrive around 1:15pm. Tomorrow will be our "easy" day - just heading to DTD once DMIL & DBIL arrive (or earlier, if our rooms aren't ready when we arrive). We need to take it easy today because our flight out is at 6:00am, and we live an hour from the airport. We'll be leaving here at 3:30am tomorrow! Dinner @ 7:00pm, though DH's uncle wants us to eat earlier... he CLEARLY doesn't understand how hard it is to get a reservation for a group of 8 people! And he didn't have an opinion 3 months ago when I made these reservations, so....

I bought in to TGM for the first time for this trip, as well, so we'll be using his recommended park days and touring guides... and we'll actually make it to our very first rope drops!

Our trip is more than halfway over... I hope you've been following along on Twitter. When I get home, I hope to write a trip report full of firsts, including the sighting of a wild river otter at Saratoga Springs.

We're back! Today's agenda is processing the over 700 photos I took (don't ask me how I take so many when we go so often, because I just don't know), and then I hope to start the trip report... (and start scheming a way to plan another trip, WITHOUT family!)
