Anyone know where I can look for some luggage for DD10? I want cute, but reasonably priced. I am also looking for some for my DS6 but he will be much easier. I feel like I have looked everywhere. I am sure that I am missing something obvious...and if anyone can help me find reasonable luggage I know that the budget board can. :goodvibes

what size? color?
I have been looking at alot lately.

JCP has some bright solid color sets
Target has cute polka dot caryons
Kohls gets good deals with their 30 off codes

I am looking for about a 21" suitcase. My husband refuses to buy the Justice set, he says that it is junk. :confused3 The set we liked at JCP is back ordered until Feb and we go on our cruise the end of Jan. I am still searching. Thanks for all of the suggestions. :)

Do you have a TJ Maxx or Marshalls near you? They have decent luggage for decent prices. In the past, they've had stuff geared toward tweens, but its really hit or miss. Worth a try though.

I say target. most of their stuff is good quality and reasonably priced.

I got my DD's set at Kohls and it has held up very well. Has been on mamy US flights and even to Italy. Hers is hot pink.

I would suggest getting a bright plain color or maybe polka dots BUT I wouldn't get anything younger because it lasts and they grow older very very quickly. (sadly)

I was searching for new luggage for our trip, and Target has a couple of really cute bag designs that I would have loved to have for me, but I didn't think DH would appreciate rolling them through the airport when he goes on trips :)

The one I really wanted was a brown plaid. They have some great bags like a weekender case. They also have the rolling duffle which my older kids would rather have than an actual suitcase

One was brown with a leaf print

I got my DD ( 13 ) luggage at Kohls for Christmas.

The regular price ( their every day sales price ) is $99 and I went at 5 am the day after Thanksgiving and got it for $49.

She'll be using it for a cruise in January!

My DD has a lime green set, that we got from a department store (Boston Store, specifically) when she was 9. It was a 3-piece set, I thinks eh got a 25 ", and a 21" suitcase, along with a carry on. This was about 6 years ago. That luggage has been to disney, Germany, Spain, other parts of florida, Tennessee (2-times) New Orleans, and a couple of other places.

It is definitely not as "bright" as it used to be - but I will say this - hers is always the only lime-green luggage when we travel - which I love being able to eaily identify it coming off the belt.

The set was about $35 at the time. I would just keep an eye out for really good sales in the next month.

Actually - Macy's has some budget-friendly sets on sale right now - I'm guessing this is part of their Wednesday sale. Here is a link! There is 1 set under $40, and at least 1 under $50, and another one under $60. Some that get really expensive too. the cheaper sets have some fun colors - some blues, hot pink, and Raspberry colors.

Good Luck!

Burlington Coat Factory has some good deals. I'm getting my 2 dds luggage this year.

It is junk, but what your child likes as a tween is NOT what she'll like as a teen. I bought a nice hot pick rolling 20" bag for DD (large enough that she could use it through her teens I thought) Now there is NO WAY... she would actually use luggage like that! Just coming back from a 3 day retreat with Jr High kids, a lot of the girls used Vera bags (including DD) she has the duffel and Vera and now wants the Weekender. Duffels were the #1 thing, one girl brought a rolling case with matching toiletry bag, cute, but you could tell it was chosen when she was a lot younger.

We bought DD a suitcase at Limited Too (now Justice) a couple of years back. I have to say, it WAS junk, and barely lasted long. I know flying is hard on luggage, but after one flight, the vinyl was all torn up. We taped it, and after a road trip (in our car) one of the wheels fell off and the handle broke.
It was just normal use for luggage. Just wante to share our personal experience. There's so much out there that you can get a better deal on (I remember hers was $45 back then) and better quality in my opinion.
Good luck!

Try T J Maxx or Steinmart, they might have just what you are looking for.

And remember, their tastes change quick, so make it something the she can grow some with. At 10, my DD would have loved anything from Justice/Limited at that time, and now at 12 she hates what they offer!! Never thought I would see that day

I would agree. DD is 11 and dislikes most of the newer offerings at Justice. She will still wear things that we have from there but now we tend to only get basics there, camis, Pjs, bras, socks, etc. on ocassion they will have a sweater or two that she deems not too kiddish.

For the most part she is shopping at PS kids or 77kids and Who R U including dept stores.

Maybe pick out something that isn't too garish as she will prob not like it in a year or two and you will end up using it.

I wouldn't buy something that screams 'tween' or 'kid'. I'd just buy 'regular' luggage, but get a color other than black. Last year I bought a decent set at Target that had 2 rolling cases, a shoulder zip case and a makeup case for about $50 in Red. My 13 year old is very happy to use that, and DH and I have also used it a few times.

Another option is to get something from LLBean or Lands End. Their stuff is sturdy, has a good guarantee and comes in lots of colors...you can get initials or a picture of something embroidered on it, and if you really want some kind of print, LLBean usually offers a couple prints in nice colors.

Each of my kids (well DH and I also) have duffels from LLBean. They last forever, take up very little space to store, and come in lots of colors so you can find them at baggage claim.

We did not get wheeled ones (because I'm cheap :) but that makes it a more maneverable option.
