Tweaking Park Hours- August

Thanks to all who noticed this. Updating my plans for August now!

Heya... I grew up in the Hudson Valley. Pine Plains.

I also grew up in Hudson Valley: Saugerties, Lake Katrine, Woodstock, Ulster County Comm. College... and the rest of my family moved to Pine Plains. My father still there.

BIZZARE! I went to elem school in Saugerties from grades k-3, moved to Lake Katrine from there for a couple years, then lived in Woodstock on Witch Tree Road for a year, before settling in in Pine Plains for grades 7-12. My Dad still lives in Pine Plains too!

Strangely we both moved to WNY in the end! I am now just east of Buffalo.

Wish the MK would also stay open till midnite on a day where it doesn't have EMH. We won't be doing any parks on the two Saturdays of our trip as they're travel days Our only pm EMH is Friday, the 15th which is Epcot. That's actually good though since we're staying at BWI and can finish our trip close to "home." Still don't know why EMH got changed up like they did. Why didn't Disney wait till January 2015 to switch them around and give fair warning to everyone making ADRs for that month, and leaving the rest of 2014 alone

There's another MUCH longer thread when the initial changes were made a while back where people are loud and clear about their dissatisfaction with it. Most agree they should definitely not touch park hours/EMH's inside 60 days unless absolutely needed. It might be a tad too much to ask them not to touch them inside six months though. A lot can happen inside the Disney machine and it "might" be understandable that they may have to move things around here and there for dates say, five months out. That being said, at the very least they could do their best to keep that sort of nonsense to a minimum.

OK, looking at the pdf link, when would you say DHS opens on 9th August?
A glance tells you it's open from 9am - 10pm. But DHS has EMH (am). So is it 8am and they don't reflect EMH in the times?
Same for MK closing on 16th Aug. Is it 11pm or 12am?

1. Regular Hours, yes.

2. AM EMH opening time would be 8AM, but since not everyone can attend AM EMH,
they don't list that time. (Mass confusion, otherwise.)

3. Regular Hours, MK closes at 11PM.
Guests staying at a WDW Resort can stay and ride MK attractions until 1:00AM. (PM EMH runs for 2 hours.)

Again, they only list the REGULAR HOURS on the calendar, as not all guests
can participate in the EMH events.

Always:

AM EMH = 1 hour BEFORE the POSTED park opening time.

PM EMH = 2 hours AFTER the POSTED park closing time.

This is so very frustrating. Disney asks us to schedule ADRs 180 days out. FP+ 60 days out and then a couple weeks before my trip they change EMHs around. First ones were a couple weeks ago and now this. I can't move anything anymore. My ADRs don't have availability to be changed. Same for FP at the times I would need. If they are going to require us to plan so extensively for our trips, they're EMH calendars should not be changing with so little advance notice. I'm fuming right now!

I completely agree and I sent Disney an email letting them know...I know it doesn't matter to them but it makes me feel better.

I wish whoever made these decisions would have to tour Disney World under the same conditions normal guest do so they would understand the impact of their last minute changes.

Amen! I sent Disney an email yesterday as well. I know it won't do any good but I also don't think that people should stand by and not complain about it. It's not good policy for them to do this and I wanted to at least voice my opinion on how it was affecting my family.
