Twas the Night Before ... Christmas 09?! - 12/30 New TR! Please come join me!

September TR started!!!! Feel free to take a look! It will be a short one! ;)

I told him that if I couldn't get my ADR for Le Cellier changed he'd be eating on the curb!!!

:rotfl:

I don't know, you have some pretty amazing luck at that place...even without an ADR I have a sneaking suspicion you'd get in!

It is entirely freak, I agree!!! BUT I am not complaining! I love mushroom risotto!!! :lovestruc and cream cheese mashed potatoes... Or sour cream or whatever they thrown in those dang mashed potatoes!!!!

So glad you were able to fix your ADRs since your BIL will be joining you! Off to check out your fall TR!

Hi ya! Well I think things went off without a hitch, I have to go back and review all the planning I did b/c I got so caught up in my mini trip that I forgot double check my #s!!! I want to make sure I have not forgotten anything!

Your DBIL is one lucky guy!! I would have done the same thing and made mine eat at any old random place...you wouldn't catch this girl skipping LeCellier!!!

Yeah, this girl too!! So he is lucky!!!

Family is family, but Le Cellier is Le Cellier !!! :rotfl:

Well, after checking out TGM's advice over our trip week, I might be making a few changes to my touring plans... :scratchin I am not sure quite yet, but it also will depend on my DBIL's plan when he arrives on Dec 22nd...

In the meantime... :rolleyes1 I am considering a visit to the Grand Floridian as part of our itinerary, likely for the Supercalifragilistic Breakfast, but I have to sell my DH on this... Gee I don't even know if I spelled that right!! :rotfl: I also didn't know this Character Breakfast goes until 11:00am, I even read 11:30am on AllEars?, but I am not sure if that is correct. I was able to get a 10:50am time, and so we may be headed over there from the MK early in our trip... Our first Monday is there. I want to visit all the resorts to see the decorations, and on our first MK day, it would make a good lunch option, however I am not sure if this would take a big chunk out of our day... :santa:

I was thinking I don't really know how long the Monorail takes from the MK to the GF... does anyone know how quickly it gets to the GF? It is GF last, right? After the Contemporary and the Polynesian? If anyone knows, please give me a tip...

Also, what do you all think of this character breakfast? I have not been to it before, I think it seems a lot like CP, at least there is the omlet station! Which is key for my DH... If it is more like CP than CM, then we should be okay. We are also scheduled for Cape May, which is TWO character breakfasts in one trip... WOA, now THAT is a first!!! TWO character meals on ONE trip??!!! My two boys don't know the characters at the Supercalifragilistic Breakfast very well Mary Poppins, yes, but not Alice... so then I of course come back to the decision overall, and I am still on the fence...

Other news, we are waffling about Kouzzina. I am thinking we might do The Flying Fish instead, or Brown Derby... We are tentatively scheduled for Flying Fish Cafe on Christmas Day, for dinner, but we also were considering the BlueZoo... but I hear better reviews for Flying Fish. If we go with BlueZoo for dinner, then I could add the Flying Fish our first night instead of Kouzzina... I have to study the reviews. We have enjoyed The Wave and Sanaa, and both of these are considered to have original menus, like Kouzzina which may be why the reviews are mediocre... I am willing to gamble.. Any comments on these restaurants? I gotta get back on the restaurant board and do some more research! :surfweb:

SO that is a little update on my Christmas planning, I have more to share, but I have to get some photos taken! And of course I am trying to finish my FALL TR!!!! So much DISing, so little time!

We enjoyed this breakfast in June and the Mad Hatter was soooo funny! Maybe it's time to introduce the boys to Alice in Wonderland....
Have you had the strawberry soup? YUM!
My vote is for you to give it a try!

You have the order correct, I'll bet it takes about 20 minutes.

If you decide to hit GF, just look to see if there is a GF boat there and that may be a faster option as it heads straight there.

I think breakfast with Alice and Hatter would be great!

Hmmmn...now I was counting on you for a review of Kouzzina to see if it makes my ADR list (or stays on it). But I can also understand why you might be waffling.

Thanks WigD! :thumbsup2 Yeah, I think we will. I figure we can get to MK for ropedrop, ride a few rides, secure FPs and then exit for brunch, return, and hang out for the rest of the early afternoon... Dinner isn't until later, @ Ohana. So we shouldn't be stuffed still! I do want to try it and it gives me a real reason to go to the GF... I am afraid if I don't make myself a reason we will somehow miss this resort...

Oh! I didn't think about the boat, great idea! :thumbsup2 Thanks!

Yes, I am not sure about this yet... for Dinner. I think I am sold on the character breakfast (brunch for us!)

I think you should try 1900 Park Fare, I've heard great things about the breakfast. I'm sure it's Practically Perfect in every way. ;)

I was going to suggest the boat too. Much faster! I don't think the monorail would take more than 10 minutes with the loop but maybe I'm wrong. :confused3

We ate breakfast at 1900 Park Fare in 2007. Mary Poppins was in the lobby for pics, and we saw Alice, the Mad Hatter, Winnie the Pooh, and Tigger. The food was very good -- I have never eaten breakfast at Chef Mickey's, and it's been five years since we ate at CP, but I would hazard to guess that the food is more like CP than CM. We really enjoyed it -- the Mad Hatter was an absolute hoot! Your boys would love meeting him.

We are also scheduled to try this breakfast for the first time in December! I am hoping it is good. But, I really did it mainly for the characters!!! LOL

Thank you for reminding me about the dang boat!!! I was thinking WL with the boat, but that is so good to hear it goes to GF as well. :thumbsup2

OF course it should be practically perfect, so we'll have to see! I booked it, and I think DH will come around.

From your comments and WigD's and the AllEars menus, I think it sounds closer to CP... I am looking forward to trying it, and I am glad to hear about the Mad Hatter!

Yes, I get that the character interaction is critical! I agree with you! I am looking forward to trying something new. :goodvibes

I have heard it is quicker to take the ferry launch from MK to the Grand Floridian than the resort monorail since it is the last stop. We are planning to eat at 1900 Park Fare for breakfast too and I think we will ferry it over and monorail it back. :)
