Are there any websites other than tvtickets.com to look for tickets?

Does anyone have any experience with attending these? Arrival times? Length of the activity? How hard to find the places?

Thanks.

We did see Leno several years ago. Got free tickets at a booth inside Universal Studios. They have tickets for quite a few shows there. Most of the shows are not at Universal Studios park. They will bus you or you can drive yourself to wherever the taping is. In Leno's case we drove ourselves over to the NBC/Universal studios. We had to arrive 1 1/2 hours before the show time. There was a long line waiting but because we got tickets at Universal we were let in ahead of that line. Everyone in line may have had a ticket but generally those tickets do not guarantee you to get inside. Only that you get first shot at a seat before people showing up without any ticket. They let the line in until all seats are filled.

We went to see That 70s Show once. Traffic between oc and there can be brutal depending on the time. Studios are usually easy to find and the guard at the gate will direct you. Every show is different but it's usually a lot of waiting. Definitely not a smaller child activity. Sorry I can't help with a website.

Here are some threads about tapings:

Also, are you looking for a show where you can take kids? There are zero shows that will allow a 3 year old and only once in a blue moon will you find one that allows a 6 year old. If you're looking for adult tickets a specific show, the best option might be to contact the show and ask which company provides their audience tickets.

Thanks for the links! I was thinking we would leave the little ones with Sis and DD15, and have a date night with the hubby.

I was going to suggest Whose Line is it Anyway for a date night, but those tapings look full. Check with 1iota, they do the ticketing for Jimmy Kimmel and Late Late Show, which are usually higher capacity.

I used 1iota for Craig Ferguson. Had to get there quite early but was pretty easy - and the site tells you the guests ahead of time. They have Jimmy Kimmel too, which is right next door to the El Capitan and Disney Studio store. Another time we tried for a sitcom with a different ticket group and got there at the time they said ( an hour early i think ) and were too late to get in even though we had tickets! so for more popular shows plan on at least 30 min before the early time on the tickets!

TV show tapings are a blast! My suggestion is similar to the others. Get there earlier than you think you need to, and plan on spending a lot of time waiting. I have worked in the television industry and our favorite saying is "Hurry up and wait." Seriously, get there early and be prepared to wait, wait, wait. It is worth it, though! Especially if you want a sort of "behind-the-scenes" look into what it takes to make a TV show. Some of the really fun ones are game shows, but those would be all morning activities. Tvtickets.com is the main website, but if there is particular show you are dying to see, check the show's webpage and see if they have any info. The popular shows tickets go really fast.

Have an awesome trip!

Are there any specific shows that allow, say, a 9 and a 16 year old at the taping? NOT Disney show tapings which would cause a 44 year old mom to have to commit suicide? :rotfl: How old does one need to be to be at a Price is Right taping? For some reason, I think it's 18; is that right?

And, just to be annoying, one more question; how far in advance do tickets need to be requested?

Thanks!
