Sorry if this is a repost- the search function is acting funky so I couldn't find out it this was recently posted.

This 2003 show will be airing on the Travel Channel on Thursday the 17th at 2:00. It replays several times (including the 20th and 22nd.) :happytv:

There is also going to be a show called The Hand Behind the Mouse. I am not sure what channel it is on, but it (281 or 282 on DirecTV, I think) the same week. It is about the animation at Disney. There is also another show called Behind the Bash (IIRC) which is about the 50th Anniv. celebration, so just a little history that might be interesting. I don't remember that channel or date either- sorry- probably on the food network, and I think it was the 15th or 16th.

I will get more details later if anyone needs them, but DD is busy watching CyberChase right now, and even though she can still watch while I search, I'd prefer to do it when she won't be around to freak about missing the math.... ;)

I would be very interested in what you find out so I may set the DVR. The kids will enjoy the history.

Behind the Bash - Disney's Anniversary Blow Out
Giada heads to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, to attend a spectacular bash celebrating 50 years of Disney theme park magic. With more than 3,000 VIP’s invited to a 50th anniversary celebration of Walt Disney’s first theme park, the catering team at Walt Disney World kicks into action
to make sure it’s a party worthy of the Disney name. On the menu are such delectable treats as Mongolian Beef, Shrimp with Crab Claws, Two Terrific Tacos, and a Butterfinger Cheesecake that would do Mickey proud. But as the clock ticks down to the big event, the team has a lot of challenges to deal with — including a brewing storm that threatens to rain on Mickey’s parade!

I just realized that the two shows (The Hand Behind the Mouse & DLR: Behind the Scenes) are only available to Directv High Def subscribers. Sorry- we have HD and I didn't think it was one of the premium channels. I just assumed it was the Travel Channel or something to that effect.

However, the Behind the Bash info above will hopefully be helpful. Right now, as we plan this trip, we are watching all things Disney-related, so I know we will be watching.

For those of you with the HD package, enjoy, and everyone else, sorry to get your hopes up.

Thanks for the heads up! (I found them on Dish, but they are still HD.)

We also have HD, so I will look when I get the opportunity. I absolutely LOVE HD

That's great, mystic_path- thanks for posting! I was feeling a little bad about posting because it almost seemed like a taunt once I found out hardly anyone would probably be able to watch the one I posted about. Problem solved- you rock! :thumbsup2

for those us who live in the dark ages & don't have HDTV;)

was able to pick up a new release (on sale for $19.99:yay: @ bestbuy.com before xmas as to DL (still working my way thru it, some of it repetitive; other great-time lapse they found of building the park is fascinating)

fyi, this is a new issue 12/07; not to be confused with an older dvd floating around

No sweat! You Tube has everything. I figured they would probably have i there. I am glad I checked.

My DH is a TV geek (he isa producer/director/editor, so I guess I knew what I was getting myself into) so he likes to have the newest and best. I remember when HD first came out, he called me to come to the TV station to watch it. It was pretty impressive.

I am not, however, impressed with Directv's HR20 receiver that we need to get the HD. We were one of the 1st 1000 people in the country to own a TiVO, and I am a stalwart TiVO fan- so glad we still have a couple upstairs.

But I digress- can't wait for this show! (I think channel 281 is HD Theater.)

I also am a TIVO geek but the HR20 does well for the family. Just bought a Sony HD camcorder just for the clarity..really not needed, but what great movies.

Best,
Jack

The Hand Behind the Mouse - I saw this not too long ago maybe a month back or so. Not HD just plain tv. Some interesting stuff.

Just found the info for Non-HD (we just get it a little sooner):

DLR: Behind the Scenes- Jan 20th at 9:00 on the Travel Channel (277 for Directv subscribers)

The Hand Behind the Mouse: The Ub Iwerks Story- Jan 19th at 2:00 (2 hours) on the Ovation Channel- not sure how many people get this, but it is Directv channel 274

I don't live in the Dark ages but I do live in North Pole. I don't have anything that will tape this for me. Does anybody know if this will play on a weekend? Or maybe later than 2:00pm is that your time? I would love to see this.

Yes, 2 PM is EST, so I would imagine it would be later in the day- never thought to make that clear, so thank so much for bringing it up. Are you in the pacific time zone? If so, I would imagine you can catch it at 5, and not 2.

It is also playing on Sunday, Jan 20th at 9 AM EST, and Tuesday, Jan 22nd at 4 PM EST, both on the travel channel.
