Does anybody else have this problem. I love to watch tv in bed:thumbsup2..Once I feel that Im falling asleep I shut the tv off...but then...its like I feel I am awake again? Is this odd:confused3 I eventually fall back to sleep..but it seems like it takes awhile. I suppose I could just leave the tv on, but my husband would not like it;)

I use the sleep timer so it turns itself off 15-30 minutes after I fall asleep.

I also love to watch tv in bed. I too set the sleep timer once I start getting tired for about 30-45 minutes.

I wonder if my Kindle turns itself off like that.... I don't watch television in bed, but I do read, and I cannot tell you how many times I've fallen asleep mid-sentence, to find my book on the floor in the morning and my bookmark on my nighttable.

I am this way too OP. Thankfully my DH can fall asleep in the midst of anything so I just set the tv on a timer for 60 minutes.

Yep, your Kindle automatically puts itself into "sleep" mode after a certain number of minutes.

OP - if your tv doesn't have a sleep timer, consider a regular security timer.

i have a sleep timer for my stereo, blu ray and tv cause they are all hooked together and i just love that my blu ray just shuts off after 20 min of being in idle mode!! :)

I need the TV to fall asleep too! My mind races without the background noise and light. Like others, I use the sleep timer. I usually put it on 90 mins because I'm terrified it will shut off before I'm fully asleep, which is the moment I first experienced sleep paralysis over 10 years ago, but that's a different thread all together!

Point is TV needs to be on and the sleep timer is a genius invention! :thumbsup2 Usually when I turn over to fall asleep I have to put on a show that I am really familiar with, like Golden Girls, so I can hear what's going on and know exactly what they are doing. If it's a new show, I'm temped to lift my head and see what's going on!

I didn't know you could get a sleep timer, I use a husband.:rotfl2:
He waits till I fall asleep and then turns the TV off.

Maybe I should get him a sleep timer for his birthday;)

Falling asleep is a tricky business.

But two things I can't have on while sleeping...
I Love Lucy and The Three Stooges. Can't stand their voices. LOL.
Usually have the Food Network on. It's like Porn for me.
