Just curious how everyone feels about it. Does your child have a television in their bedroom?

Nope. Too much trash on. Have you seen those Girls Gone Wild commercials late at night? HOLY COW!

Absolutely not....there is no reason for it.

and I agree with Boston...what is up with using Porn for a commercial?...
so much trash is on now...

Holycow

Nope. They would never watch them anyway, as they never get off their computers long enough. :teeth:

Nope. We have a guest room/play room that has one for "their" shows and videos, but I don't plan for them to have one in their rooms.

I have one too, but I'm on my computer more than I watch TV

No way, no how. DD (5) actually asked for one a couple of times last year and we said no. We only have 2 tvs and that is plenty. There is no reason for her to be isolated from the family in her room. The same goes for the computer, we have one in the office for family use and that will suffice.

No TV, but DD11 got a small DVD player for Christmas year before last. She uses it when she has a friend come over to spend the night. They get in her bed and watch a movie before they fall asleep. I don't have any problem with that, but I wouldn't put a TV with cable in her room. DD16 never had one, either.

I DO let them have an extension phone in their rooms, though. Girls love the idea of having their "own" phone, and I don't have any problem with that, either. They still have to follow the phone rules, though!!!

Granddaughter doesn't have one in her room.. Her computer isn't in her bedroom either - it's in the dining room.. Too much junk on both things for her to be left alone to be exposed to..

Yep, my 6 yr. old DD has one in her room. It was an extra TV, so we let her have it. Since she's not a big TV watcher it's not a problem. When she gets up in the morning she watches Sesame Street before coming into our room.

I am trying to get rid of the two we DO have. I would never allow my kids to have one in their rooms. There is virtually nothing excellent or beneficial on TV, especially for younger children. My opinion only, I know there are many TV lovers out there.

Mine don't have one in their rooms either. There is one in the playroom. I just don't see the need for it in their bedroom. Why start something that could lead to a problem.

I have a T.V. in my bedroom but I usually only watch DVD's on it when I go to bed. The only other time I watch it is when there is a baseball game on and my mom is watching T.V. in the living room.

There are no TVs in ANY bedrooms in our house, not the master bedroom, not DS 17's room and not DD 16's room.

I figured if we made the rule for our kids then we should abide by it too.

The 2 computers are in the family room - they won't move into any bedrooms either.

She not only has one in her bedroom, but she also has one in her study. I totally trust her not to watch programs that she shouldn't. As long as she gets her homework done and continues to get straight As, I have no problem with this.

I'm another mean mom. We have one tv - granted it's the size of a movie theater :earseek: (just kidding...but it's big).

No TV in ds9's bedroom. The only time we ever had it in there was when he was getting over a nasty kidney infection, and was so sick that he had a hard time getting up and around. We moved our guest room TV in there so he could watch a little TV/sleep/watch TV... Now every time he gets a little cold, he tries to get us to move it back. :)
