This is my largest debate is whether or not to make by DH wear a tuxedo, given he feels so uncomfortable in them. He does own a nice black suit, but feels uncomfortable in that too. I did think of nice khaki pants and polo shirts, but think that's a little too casual(I have posted a link to a picture of what my dress will look like in the dress forum). I do want him dressed up, but comfortable too since we're planning our DFT VR on our Anniversary of June 1st and I know how hot Orlando is then(our own weding day here in VA was hot, more so for me being preggers). We don't have a single picture from our Wedding Day so our VR pictures will really be it. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

what about inen or khaki pants (my grannie would say "slacks"- heh) and a white dress short? maybe no tie - but a nice belt, boutonniere? we are getting married in january, but i think we are going to aim for something like grey dress pants, matching vest and dress shirt with different colored ties for my fiance and his son/best man - maybe even matching chucks on the feet....

on some level, he has to "dress up" no matter what - if you are comfortable with more casual, the khakis and maybe a Hawaiian shirt or something? ultimately, whatever the two of you like is just fine!!!! plus i would think s dress shirt or button up shirt in a cotton or whatnot might also be cooler? doesn't have to be long sleeved or buttoned up all the way - guys look cute a little rumpled around the edges!

What about a navy blazer with khakis? That's what my stepson did and it looked great!!

My DH wore linen slacks and a linen shirt to our Escape wedding. It may seem a bit informal, but it is nice and comfy. Plus, since your dress has spaghetti straps, you might find something similar that complements it.

Our men wore linen shirts and dark trousers with shoes, as it was extremely hot in August! DH was worried he wouldn'tlook smart but he looked gorgeous - far more than if he had been sweating and uncomfortable in a suit :lmao:

The inspiration came from pictures of Tony Hawke's wedding originally :thumbsup2

I love your ideas, thank you. I love the idea of the button down shirts, and his doesn't need to be long sleved. I've suggested the Hawaiian Shirts to him and I get the "no way will I wear one" from him reply, but thank you for the suggestion.

It's hard to dress a guy who normally wears polo shirts and khakis or jeans to work, and old comfy T-shirts and jeans or khakis at home and out, but not make himsuffer wearing a Tux. The only tuxedo I've seen him wear was a chocolate brown one last July for his brother's wedding and he was so hot and sweaty in it and his brother was mean making him wear a very heinous colored tuxedo for several hours. I just can't bring myself to tell him you're wearing a tux whether you're comfy in them or not when it's his day
too.

That may work with he blazer, but I don't know how hot he may be in one. I guess I can take him looking around to try some on and see how comfortable he feels in one. Thank you for the suggestion.

Thank you so much for the suggestion. I love the look on your DH. I shoul see how comfortable my DH might be in Linnen Pants. I am planning to find a Little White Dress to change into after, so that coul work quite well. It looks and sounds more comfortable than a Tuxedo.thank you for sharing the picture and for your suggestion. I do love it.

I love the look of your DH too. Maybe that is something my DH would go for. I don't think Ill have a problem wig him getting a darker pair of pants since he can wear that and the nicer shirt to work after on days where they have visitors and need to dress up. It will be easier to transport than having to worry about having to return tuxedos too. Thank you for sharing your picture too and your advice.

Thank you all again for your ideas. It is certainly giving me more to work with and to convince my DH that there are plenty of comfortable but nice tuxedo alternatives out there for him and his Groomsmen. At least the linnen pants, khakis, or dress black pants will be easy enough to buy 2 pair as well as 2 shirts (1 for VR and 1 for MK-Epcot Photo Session) and he will also have something nice to wear that we can have cleaned for any nice Siggy Restaurants. Maybe I can suggest he get the polo shirts to give to the guys with Mickey on them as part of his gift to them and maybe it would make a cute picture of the guys at the Welcome Party instead.

At least he can't say Im not putting his comfort first and being all Bridezilla on him for making him wear a Tuxedo or Suit.

We found DHs at H&M in Germany, but I bet any H&M or other trendy shop would carry something like it. You can also check out the Tommy Bahama brand. They sell a few of those at the mens shop in the GF.

I've seen a lot of really artsy weddings where the grooms (and groomsmen) where dress pants, a shirt, and an awesome vest (check out the Green Wedding Shoe blog). I love the look, but DF wasn't buying it. :(

Thank you so much for letting me know this. I love H&M and we have one in our mall right down the road from us. I love Tommy Bahama, so we will most certainly have to check those out. Thank you.

Thank you so much for the idea. I just checked the site out. He may not think it's him, or buy it either. It is a classy look though.
