Hi
I am not having a disney wedding or anything. I have a tux question I couldn't find the answer to online. I thought I would ask here even though I am already married. Everyone at the DIS is so nice and thought you guys would be up on the subject.

Do men still wear cumberbunds and bow ties with tuxes? Is it all straight ties and vests now? Does your tie need to match your vest?

Thanks for your help
:D

Personally, I think cumberbunds and bow ties are outdated. That's just a personal opinion, I'm sure others don't think so. When going with a vest and tie, just like with most other clothing, they don't Have to "match" but they should always "coordinate". Sometimes it's harder to get things that coordinate than to get things that match, especially something like a tux, since they usually come in sets. Although, I'm sure they can be broken up. Maybe some rental places don't let you separte sets, so it would be best to ask. Ok, hope that helped, somewhat!

Thanks,
You are confirming what I thought. I noticed you don't see them as much anymore.
My DH wants a tartan cumberbund for an upcoming holiday party and I am trying to convince him otherwise;)

I think a bow tie and cummerbund is a more classic look, but the vests and tie is much more trendy right now.
