Booking a reservation for lunch on the first day of our trip. It will be me, my wife and 3 little ones (8, 5 and 1). I think overall the Italian food would be more in line with what our kids like to eat, but haven't been able to find a lot of information on the atmosphere at Tutto. Biergarten seems like it might be more in line with what I anticipate our kids energy level to be on the first day of our trip.

Any advice from those out there who have taken little ones to Tutto Italia?

I have eaten at Tutto, but not at Biergarten. I can tell you that I received an "adult" vibe from Tutto. There were not many young children there when we ate. The food we ordered (2 adult, 2 teenagers) were very good but actually a bit more sophisticated than the Italian Restaurant down the road.

Tutto is very expensive and does definitly have an adult quiet upscale atmosphere.
I think you would be much more comfortable at Biergarten.

Just my 2 cents.

Biergarten is pretty fun. You sit family style, and in the center of the room is the stage where the band plays. It's German style om-pah music, of course! It's fun, and it keeps the noise level up in case someone has a melt down. Food is served buffet style with some non-German kid friendly options.

I agree to eat in Germany. Great selections on the buffet for the younger ones and they can pick and choose what they want. This is also a much more relaxed place to eat. They will enjoy the show and will give them something to watch while you are eating. Alot of kids also get up and join in the dancing. I think they would gets restless in the restaurant in Italy.

i would definitely choose biergarten. the atmosphere is loud, fun and the kids can even dance on the dance floor while the band plays. the food is great and we love the oktoberfest-style seating (8 to a table) and the music.

We did both on our recent trip. I suggest looking over the menu at Biergarten carefully before deciding. My kids (who are adventurous eaters) tasted everything, spit lots of things out, choked down others and left starving. They liked the music but that really didn't negate the fact that after lunch at Biergarten, we had to buy them CS lunch.

Tutto is quite expensive and did have the vibe of being a bit more upscale but my kids did great. There were kids at many tables that night, they offered crayons and coloring pages and had a wonderful kid's menu so Tutto is kid friendly. My kids enjoyed their meals and when our little guy fell asleep, our server grabbed us a chair from another table so he could sleep comfortable.

So my advice is to research both menus, take price into account and go with what you think will work best for you.

We've eaten at both and I entirely agree with all the votes for Biergarten. The "adult vibe" at Tutto is a great way to explain it. I was there as a college student with my parents and then-teenaged brother and loved it. Went back just last year with my three children and my husband - definitely picked up on the "adult vibe" from the CMs, even though they have all the Disney standards (kids' menu, crayons, etc.)

Another vote here for Biergarten! It was so great there when we took our kids 2 years ago. They were 3 and 1 at the time. The food was delicious and there were kid-friendly options on the buffet. And since it's a buffet, you can also encourage your kids to try new foods! The entertainment is fantastic and all the kids in the restaurant really seemed to enjoy it. We're returning there in July!

Remember, since Biergarten is a buffet, your 1-year-old will eat there for free! ;)

I only read the first few responses, but when we were there last May, it was not that quiet and seemed okay for kids. Granted, on that day the place was packed (we had to wait a good 15-20 minutes for a table) and it was raining a lot and everyone was trying to get out of the rain, but the place was pretty large and there was a decent number of younger kids there. My four (at the time they were 17 mos to just-turned-6) did fine and didn't bother anyone. We were in a corner table, which may have made it a little better. My kids weren't yelling or having meltdowns (they are used to going to sitdowns,) but they were talking to each other and to us. That said, I didn't care for my dish, so we won't go back this time (DH loved his so it is just a matter of preference.) I think the Germany place would be fun to try, but if you would rather have Italian, your kid(s) may be okay there. I'm nervous about taking mine to Le Celliar this time since I have heard that it is very small, but I'm going to do it.

We went to Biergarten in Dec and loved it. We were told by our waiter that this is a fun loud place, so sit eat drink and don't tell your kids to be quiet, if other people don't like it they can leave! Our kids ate quite a bit. The mac n' cheese is yummy. They also have roasted chicken, potato, macaroni salad. We were very pleased with the meal and especially the atmosphere.

I agree that Biergarten would be fun for your kids! The food is pretty good also!:rotfl:

Biergarten for sure... kids can go dance themselves silly on the dance floor if they want.. so can adults for that matter. Its one of my DDs faves and she wants to go back this trip but I doubt we will fit it in.

I would definitely recommend Biergarten. We did both last year and preferred Biergarten with the kids (DD 2 and 5 last year). Ours generally like Italian food over everything, but they were easily able to find things they liked on the German buffet and loved the atmosphere. That is the one we are doing again this year.

Just an FYI, if you are looking for Lunch, book a late lunch because I think the 1st actual Show at Biergarten is at 1 or 1:15.

Definitely recommended for families with little ones.

We have done both with our little ones. Tutto was fine with the kids - the food was good, service was great. There were plenty of kids there when we were there, however what you will get there is just dinner albeit a good one in a nice atmosphere. Biergarten has entertainment as well, very kid-friendly entertainment. My kids love to go out onto the dance floor when the band plays. They liked the food at both places. Our younger son cannot eat dairy and there were way more options for him at Biergarten - I have never seen one little kid eat so much sausage!!! We have not been back to Tutto but go to Biergarten each trip.

My DD, 3 on our trip, is a picky eater. She ate more at Biergarten than I think I have ever seen her eat at any meal in her life. There were a lot of different things she liked, and most of them were not from the kid selections.
