Your reviews have been great! You do a lovely job! You are right on the money regarding this one! Love those pasta pillows from heaven, at least that is what DH calls them :rotfl2:

This is the first "truth" review I have read and I liked it. Now I will be reading the others. keep up the good work.

Can you elaborate a bit on the difference between it and the Italian place in DHS (Mama Melroses)? We are planning to eat at Mama Melroses in January.

Thanks! And keep the reviews coming!

I first read your review about CHH and when I saw this one, I thought, oh, I gotta read it! I was really surprised when I read your first post. :confused3 Don't know how old you are, don't care - just keep writing your reviews and I will keep reading them! ;)

I don't want to critique Mama Melrose too much because I've only eaten there once and didn't enjoy it. But that was only because I ordered the wrong thing and our waiter wasn't as top notch as others we'd enjoyed.

To be honest, it depends on what you are looking for. Tutto Italia is more authentic Italian cuisine while Mama Melrose just doesn't compare that way. The menus are very different, so check them both out on Debs AllEars.

Two questions for you, are you planning on seeing Fantasmic, and are you purchasing the Park Hopper option? If so, eat an early dinner at Tutto Italia and then take the boat to DHS. If not and you are still looking for Italian food, Mama Melrose is your only option.

Thank you for taking the time to do these reviews! I have to say I really enjoy reading them and always keep my eye out for the next installment! :goodvibes

Thanks for the input....well as authenic versus non-authenic goes in mexican food, I prefer non-authenic. I'm not sure how I feel about authenic Italian. I like Bravos Italian Kitchen, but I do not care for Fazolis. I like Olive Garden although it's not my first choice.

The reason I picked Melroses is I saw a picture posted on a thread that had Mama Melroses chicken parmesian dish pictured. It looked really good. I hope it doesn't disappear from the menu before I get there. That already happened at Pizzafari. Dang it. I wanted to try their chicken parm too.

Nope, not planning on seeing Fantasmic. But we do have park hoppers.

You mean there's a boat between Epcot and DHS? I did not know that. I'm assuming it must be off the international gateway? Thanks! We'll have to check it out.

Hoosier Mom...the boat leaves from Int'l Gateway entrance and stops at Boardwalk, YC/BC, Swolphin and then DHS. It takes 20-25 minutes.

I have been to both Tutto Italia and Mama Melrose's while using the DDP. I must say that I would recommend Tutto Italia as the better of the two. I absolutely LOVE Italian cuisine. I rate Tutto Italia as better than Mama Melrose's in all categories - atmosphere, quality of food, waitstaff, service, and menu options. If I had to describe Mama's, I would compare it to a down-home pizzeria type of Italian restaurant, whereas Tutto Italia's is more formal. At Tutto Italia's, I ordered the Penne Caprese and it was soooo delicious! I've been to a ton of restaurants in my life, and this easily had one of the best pasta dishes that I've ever had, especially the cheese. The desserts were all divine! Our family ordered a variety of them and we all had a blast sampling each other's desserts. WOW, they were that good. I remember Mama's being more of a Pizza Hut sort of restaurant. It was good, but not even close to the quality of Tutto's.

I dined at Tutto Italia twice on my most previous vacation and both times it was spectacular! More to come.

EDIT - I've wanted to make a change to my thread for a long time but never really knew how to best address the change. Because my threads deal with individual restaurants, they often do not engage much discussion because they are catered toward one thing. And other times readers feel they cannot post unless a comment is relevant to the review in the first post. I am changing the title of the thread to allow for a completely open discussion of the restaurant.

With the change of title and intent of this thread, the moderators took a few minutes to discuss where this thread should go now.

Reviews are one person's opinion, and what the review board was set up for. There is some discussion amongst those posting on the review threads, but it's not an open discussion about a particular restaurant.

Open discussion is great, it's what the DIS is made of. However, an open discussion about a restaurant belongs on the main board where everyone can discuss a particular restaurant.

Since the OP wants to change their review to an open discussion, we are going to close the review thread (this one) and invite him to start an open discussion thread about Tutto Italia on the main board.
