Can anyone give me some insight on Tusker House? We have an ADR there next month, but I'm second guessing if we would really like it or not. Any opinions good or bad would be greatly appreciated!!! TIA!!

What meal? We just did the character breakfast and the food was good. They had some very tasty ham on the buffet. Yum...and had lots of selections the kids liked...not sure on the other meals though

I also wondered which meal...We have been for breakfast...We thought the food selection was very good...Large selection and the food was very good...The place is very loud and we thought the tables were too close together...We were comparing against the old Donald's breakfast...

We would and plan to go back for the food and the character interaction.

just and fyi, I love lunch there :)

they have beef sirloin and pork tenderloin, pretty normal stuff......and I LOVED the green beans.....both cold and hot.....and then some really cool dishes with african inspirations....

the dessert bar is great cuz there are so many choices in mini portions so you can have many different tastes :)

Ditto on the previous poster. We were very pleased with our lunch there a few weeks ago. We went to a late lunch and it wasn't crowded at all. The carving station was good and there were a lot of interesting selections on the buffet.

We had dinner there last month and really liked it. DD13 and DS9 both found plenty to eat as did DH and I. The majority of the foods have an african flair to them, but we really enjoyed having something different for a change of pace. ::MinnieMo

We had lunch there back in June and thought it was one of the better buffets as far as food choices go. It had some very kid-friendly choices that weren't offered on the other buffets and had great stuff for the adults as well.

My mom and I ate there last spring break for lunch and really enjoyed it. It was a last minute trip so we just squeezed in what ADRs we could and were quite pleased with them all. We liked trying some of the more exotic dishes. I wouldn't want to speak for how children would like it as it as just us two adults. The huge variety of food seemed to have the kids there quite happy though. We plan on going back this spring with my sister and BIL for breakfast and can't wait.

I had the lunch buffet at Tusker House last week. The food was SO wonderful I thought I had died and gone to heaven! :goodvibes
Flavors are similar to Boma, which is my favorite restaurant. My dining partner is far less adventurous. :confused3 She ate green beans, mashed potatoes and was thrilled that she could make a turkey and Swiss cheese on a bagel sandwich.
ENJOY!

Hint - Get fast passes for the Safari just before going in to eat your meal. When you finish eating, it is just a short walk to get on the safari.

we ate there for supper the week of Labor Day. My teen ds's voted it best meal of the trip lol. They liked it more then Coral Reef and LeCellier! The rest of us also enjoyed the meal. They had plenty of choices and we all were able to find things we liked. That doesn't happen very often when you travel with 6 kids!

we liked dinner there in May...lots of choices, some unusual, some standard buffet fare. Great desserts. DH liked being able to get a beer with dinner:thumbsup2

We found the hot food hot, cold food cold, and everything cleaned up/replenished frequently. Excellent server, very attentive.

We ate there for the first time for lunch in November and thought it was wonderful. They have plenty of food for the non-adventurous types and lots of fun and different options as well. The seafood stew (I think it was actually called seafood bbq when we were there) had the most perfectly cooked shrimp which I found to be amazing since it was sitting under a lamp at the buffet. If you have ever had the veggie couscous at restaurant Marrakesh at Epcot, they have something similar at Tusker House, but it's very spicy which was a little disappointing since my tongue couldn't handle the heat. The orzo pasta was the best stuff ever. It was one of my favorite meals of the trip though. Hope you enjoy it, if you decide to go.
