If you were wanting to hit a character meal in the beginning of your trip to get some character autographs. Which would you chooe and why..chef Mickey or Tusker House and why?

I have been to both...and love Tusker House way better. But it seems that Chef Mickey's gets all the great reviews and recommendations.

My one experience at Chef Mickey's was not good I guess....very loud and crowded.
Tusker house only one out of 5 times was it bad..and very bad...an hour wait even with dining reservations..for 10 of us. They did comp people with a free fastapas to anything we wanted...

A few years ago, I would have said Chef Mickey's, hands down. Now - Tusker House all the way - CMs has gotten REALLY bad, but TH has consistently been good for us!

Chef Mickeys gets great reviews?? Lol. Really? I havent seen many glowing recommendations. :lmao:
Honestly, I personally dont think chef mickeys is very good. At all. I tried their breakfast, and it was awful. Horrible quality food (it wasnt even warm), and horrible selection. I did wonder prior to the meal "how bad can it be? its pretty hard to screw up breakfast". But they sure managed to! It was also very chaotic and loud. And I waited forever for the characters. Also, I know this doesnt matter, but I didnt like the atmosphere of the place either.
Tusker House is one of my fave breakfasts. First, you should make an early ADR. At 8am if possible. That way you wont wait at all. They have by far the best selection of food i've seen in a while. So yummy. And the characters are great!! Daisy is a riot! love her!

We've been doing Tusker House for our first character breakfast for a few years now.

Definitely TH. We went to TH breakfast for the first time this year. It was one of my favorite meals.

We booked Tusker House because of the time. Chef Mickey was only available at 9:20 pm for dinner (my kids are too little for that) and Tusker House was available for breakfast at 8 am. So, we chose Tusker House.

Tusker House Breakfast.

We ate at both last week. I was disappointed in Chef Mickey's this time around. We ate there 8 years ago and loved it for Breakfast. Back then, Chip and Dale where still there. The selection this time around seemed to be waaaay down from the selection I remember from years ago. In addition, I thought it was much more subdued than before. Yes, I said it, Chef Mickey's seemed to be very subdued this time to us! I was disappointed. Where was all the noise and fun? The characters were fine, and nothing was bad but we just preferred Tusker House. I am not sure which the kids preferred though. In addition, Chef Mickey's was more expensive than Tusker House.

Tusker House was good (not the best meal ever but good), but the Juice they serve there should be bottled and sold to take home with you. ;) I also liked the fact that we were in the park by shortly after 8. Now, it took the waitress awhile to bring us our bill so we were about 10 minutes late getting out of the restaurant and were beat to some of the rides by the general masses.

Neither restaurant was bad but you are really paying for the character interaction. Keep that fact in mind and you will probably enjoy yourself at either restaurant - at least until the bill comes! Our meal at C.M for 7 was over $200 for breakfast.:scared1:

100% Tusker House unless seeing Minnie is a must. We ate at Chef Mickeys once for dinner and it was disgusting. DD was 3 at the time. She is 5 now and we have been back to WDW twice since then and even she has not wanted to go back to CM (and she is a big Minnie fan if that tells you anything).

Another vote for TH. We go every year and eat at CM, so last year we replaced CM with TH and wow what a difference. Good food and not crowded

Yet another vote for TH. Past visits we'd make reservations for Chef Mickey's with the expectation that the food would be bad. On our last visit in October we decided that it was our last time there. The food and the service were both bad. That also happened to be the trip where we first tried TH...and it was love at first sight. The food was very good, we had good service, and the interaction was good.

That is how I feel..that is so funny...I love it as that is what I would pick is Tusher House...

Maybe it was a few years ago I read the CM reviews...

Thanks!!!

Definitely TH. CM is great to see fab five but food quality is less than desired. Also, I couldn't believe how filthy the restaurant was. I just didn't like it that much on our last trip.

TH had really good traditional breakfast food plus some adventurous. Also, it was great to walk into empty park for early ADR. :thumbsup2
