Tusker House ROL package worth it?

We're trying to decide if a ROL package at Tusker House makes sense for us. The problem is that we are all now Disney "adults". It is painful to pay an adult buffet price for someone who weighs 50 lbs. The teenage boy will help make up for it, but I'm not a huge eater either, so overall we're not going to come close to eating our money's worth. But, it will give us a good mid-day sit-down meal. The characters are not a huge draw for us, but I do like the Tusker House décor.

Of course, we are really paying for ROL FP. My kids have anxiety in crowded, confined spaces, so there's no way we're waiting a long time for standby. Will the pre-show experience with the dining package FP be that much easier to justify the price tag for four Disney "adults"?

You can always book a FP for RoL rather than pay for Tusker.

Because of the RoL Package, Tusker gets backed up by late morning. Guests may wait up to 30 minutes or more to be seated and if you want to meet all the characters, plan on 75 minutes after being seated.

Guests are still missing FP Times because no one ever plans for a two-hour lunch at Tusker. If you don’t care about meeting characters, pay for your meal as soon as you are seated and leave when you are ready.

I love Tusker House, so we will always go......and since its with the package, it would only be $10ish more? I would be ok with that, would you? The seating for us was great, we had a perfect spot and didn't have to stand in a line and got to enjoy our time in the park...

So, if you are not going standby and cannot/will not fp the ride then your only choice is Tusker House or not see the show. You have to decide if it is "worth it" for the seating. I have read that there are certain locations around the park that you can kind of see the show but nothing like actually being in the theatre.

The seats were good! I feel you on whether or not it's worth it; though I truly do enjoy Tusker House dinner as something a little different, it was my third time eating there and I was/am tired of it (I like trying new-to-me places when we go). The kids hadn't tried it, though, and my husband especially wanted good seats, so we gave it a shot. And ultimately the service was excellent, the food was tasty and I liked the show itself a lot, so it did end up worth it personally.

That said, we couldn't get a package this year (and I was willing to fork over the $$ for Tiffins) so we'll probably FP it for comparison's sake and eat at Tiffins anyway, since we're not using the DDP this trip.

I thought it was worth it. If concerned about being a light eater, do what we did. Skip breakfast, book an early lunch which means you'll get both breakfast items as well as lunch. The food was great, and we really enjoyed ROL, although there are mixed opinions about the show.

It was worth it for us! My kids were 2 and 5 at the time and I wanted to make sure the whole process was easy and that we got great seats and we did!

We did it last April and loved it. We tried some different foods, but there were plenty of choices for picky eaters. The characters were great and at the time we got a free lotus flower popcorn bucket. I really wanted one, but didn't want to pay for it. It was an added bonus.

If you are looking to bring in a drink with you, i highly recommend the Himalayan Ghost.
