Tusker House questions

Hi...I just had to make changes to two of our ADRs. I found out the "Lights, Camera, Action Stunt Show" was going to be closed on the day we were planning to go to DHS, so I had to switch days with AK. As a result, I had to cancel our Tusker House breakfast (ok because we've got other ADRs for character meals) and change it to lunch on the new day (breakfast wasn't available). We've never eaten at the Tusker House. Can someone who has eaten there tell me what it is like? Also, I'm confused because I made an ADR for it and I just read something on here that says it's a CS restaurant. Is this right? If so, why did dining make an ADR for us? Thanks for your help. :goodvibes

It's a buffet line so I'm not sure if that counts as TS or CS.

The food is good and there is LOTS of it. Go hungry. It's very popular so the ADRs are a good thing. My experience is that they generally run a little late compared to the ADR time, especially if you eat lunch early.

I don't remember what they call it but they have a "juice" that is a mixture of juices which is very very good.

Tusker House was a CS restaurant prior to last November. It is now a TS buffet. You were reading old information, which is easy to do if you're using the search.

Tusker House is fan-freaking-tastic, IMO. We ate there twice last December.

They have everything from carved meats to lunch meats, plus all kinds of sides, salads, breads, and a wide selection of great desserts. You can make yourself a very familiar sandwich, or go for something more exotic (but not weird exotic -- just a slightly different twist on something you already like). :)

Plus the staff is just wonderful.

Of course, it's not on the level of a signature restaurant, but for a buffet, it's very, very good.

It's our favorite place to eat in the AK area (but we haven't tried Jiko yet).

We ADORE Tusker House!!

We loved it so much when it was counter service but were not disappointed when we tried it for table service. The buffet is excellent. The seafood stew was unbelievable!!!

What about for breakfast?? Is the buffet good for breakfast?

We ate lunch @ Tusker House last month and I'd have to say it was by far, the best meal of our trip  Something for every palette!!! We LOVED trying all the exotic foods (as well as familiar ones!) Everything was DELICIOUS!!!! :thumbsup2 Yummm..... it'll be a must-do for our next trip!!!!

Can't say for breakfast, but I've found that so many of the breakfast buffets serve almost the same thing but there are different characters at each. I personally would go for lunch if you're not aiming for time with the characters because the foods are amazing!!! :)

Just returned from a trip last week... Tusker house breakfast was great! Loved the selections of breakfast items and fruit. make sure to try the mealie bread! Yummo! Character interaction was good and I loved the breakfast juice. A combo of mango, papaya and pineapple juice. Service was good server was very attentive and is a must do for our future trips!

Is lunch different from dinner??? The menus say lunch/dinner, but I know that some buffets have some additional items for dinner. Also what time do they serve lunch?

We enjoyed the character breakfast at Tusker House last Dec. I thought the food was very good with a good selection of both kids and adult food items. The food selection reminded me of Boma at AKL.

We have lunch reservations here next week on my birthday -- we loved TH as a CS last year, and loved Boma for dinner too -- so it's really great to hear all these wonderful reviews! Looking forward to it even more now... :goodvibes
