ok so im looking up the menus to different restraunts so i can make my ADR's and i see that the tusker house in Animal kingdom looks really good. Do i need an ADR for this place allears says its a counter service but i just wanted to make sure. also what does everyone think of the tusker house? any good? :confused3

No ADR needed, Tusker House is a counter service place with lots of tables inside. The food there is really, really good, especially for counter service. We ate there last fall and had the rotissere chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans, and it was great! Low (for Disney) price, being counter service, the food was hot and good, no complaints! DH and DS shared one meal, and DS2 and I shared the other and had plenty of food.

The salmon is out of this world here (that is, for counter service :teeth: ). If you're looking for a nice change of pace from the burgers/fries/pizza route, this is THE place to go.

I really love Tusker House. It is a must at ever vacation. They have great food selections and lot of seating. The outdoor seating is great - listen for the woman cleaning dishes and singing from the second floor window!

Tusker House is one of our favorite cs restaurants. No ADRs needed. I love the chicken and DH loves the salmon. Outdoor seating is nice.

We really enjoyed Tusker House too. I had the salmon and rice which was lovely. My husband had the chicken breast sandwich and fries which was good too. Chocolate cake and carrot cake finished the meal, though we were too full to eat the chocolate cake and carried it around with us for the rest of the day!

yay! thanks everyone! im getting hungry just thinking about it! this will be a must for my trip this summer!! thanks again!!! :sunny:

Love Tusker House! You've got to try the corn chowder. My 3 kids request it, so you know it's wonderful!

Never eaten there yet but plan to next trip for a healthy option. I will go for the salmon. I dont know anywhere you can get salmon that cheap! :)

Tusker House is probably our favorite counter service in ALL of WDW! I think they have the best quality counter service food of all of them!! The salmon is such a great value and is very good! I was floored the first time I got this dish as I was shocked how cheap it was and how GOOD is was even compared to many full service restaurants! (and that you could actually get something "healthy" at a counter service place--it comes with veggies and they're good!!)

DD pretty much eats chicken fingers so we get the chicken sandwich and cut it up ;) Their rotisserre chicken is very good as well. They have a nice menu selection. Indoor or outdoor seating is plentiful. Outdoor seating is good for viewing some of the entertainment here. :teeth:

I too think the Tusker House is the best CS in all of WDW. I had the fried chicken sandwich, which I thought was wonderful. DH and DS had the chicken meal and enjoyed it as well!

While the rotisserie chicken is my favorite, I also have enjoyed the chicken salad and corn chowder/wrap. Also, breakfast here is excellent. Servings are large enough for us to share...unless were really, really hungry.

It is also one of the few counter service places that you can get a bottle of Hot Sauce to pour on your food.

Tusker House was Awesome! I love the salmon and rice dish. Unbelievable counter service meal. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it! Enjoy!

Now, see, that's why there's lots of different food options in WDW! This was our absolute worst restaurant. We got trapped into going there, because the rest of the family voted on it and we were outvoted. I got the chicken sandwich, which was fine, but DH and DS's all got the kids macaroni & cheese. (DH actually had two kids meals.) My family are all very plain eaters and there was nothing else in that restaurant that my men would eat!

We loved the chicken sandwiches! They were very big! We also sat outside and had a very quiet relaxing lunch! :rotfl2: We will definetaly go back! :rotfl:

Could someone describe the outdoor seating? I ate at one CS at AK a couple of years that had a beautiful outdoor area around a water garden. Is this it?
