Tusker House Question

I made reservations for Tusker House at 10:50 am which is breakfast. Since lunch starts at 11 will there be breakfast or lunch foods available or both?

Thank you for asking this. I have the same time for our upcoming trip. We have been several times for breakfast and I thought by booking a late breakfast, we would be able to enjoy some of the lunch buffet as well.

That's what I'm hoping. I wanted to try lunch but my family isn't as adventurous and wanted breakfast so I was hoping by booking late we could have the best of both worlds. Also I didn't want to book too early in the day because I'm hoping to see the Jungle Book night show.

I would think that you will only have breakfast foods on offer. Lunch is more expensive so I doubt that they will offer you a choice. Both are delicious though so either way you win!

You should catch the beginning of lunch, they move over the breakfast to one side and start setting lunch up on the other. (unless they have changed things)

We were there last year and had an 11:20 reservation. There was a small section of breakfast food and lunch was set up. As we were filling our plates of breakfast foods, they were trying to put it away lol I ended up having to ask for syrup at the table.

Yes, this. I have done this several times - made a "late" breakfast reservation - and catch it when they are transitioning over to lunch.

We had a 1050am in March and yes, you do get to sample lunch as they are transitioning the buffet from breakfast to lunch.

I would be a little concerned that they will not have the breakfast foods out for very long. They will start to transition to lunch before 11.

They definitely will have fresh breakfast food until 11:00. You are more apt to not get a large selection of lunch foods, then to not get breakfast foods. My experience was that they stopped bringing out breakfast food at a little after 11 and started moving it over to one section as platters were emptied.

If you book during the official breakfast time you pay the breakfast price. If you book during the official lunch time you pay the lunch price. But you may get to sample both offerings, depending on how quickly they do the switch out.

1) If you book during the breakfast hours, you pay the breakfast price, IF you check-in prior to your ADR time
. . . if you check-in after your time, you could be charged the lunch pricing
. . . remember to get there 15-20 minutes early
. . if there is a line-up at the podium and you check-in late, you could be classified as a "lunch" diner
. . . it is not Disney's fault if you check-in late, as they advise 15-minutes early
2) As for breakfast food,
. . . you might not be seated until AFTER 11:00am
. . . they start clearing the breakfast food about 10:45am, but sometimes as late as 11:00am
. . . the breakfast food left over on the buffet gets moved to the center of the room . . . it is not replenished
. . . lunch food is set out 10:45am-11:00am
3) So, your chances of getting breakfast food could be small or not at all - certainly not for a second helping

This is our favorite time to eat at Tusker. You pay the cheaper breakfast price but get the advantage of getting to try two meals. More like brunch ; )

Yes, I had read on here that if you went for a late breakfast you could sample both. We have a 10:30 ADR for our November trip. I figured with 10:30 even if we sat late, we would be sure to get our breakfast items. On our second go around to the buffet I am hoping to try some lunch items. Best of both worlds at the cheaper price.
