Tusker House PPO Breakfast, FP+ Safari at 9:30?

I’m going to be at AK 1/5, and I have a pre-park opening 8:05am Tusker House Breakfast. I also have a FP for Safari at 9:30. Is this overkill? Should we drop the FP and just do Safari when we finish breakfast (at pre-opening time). We also have a FP for FoP and EE.

Or... Should we leave TH and do something else before the Safari FP+? Would NRJ work? I’ve only been to AK once, and i’m not positive what type of walk that would be, and if we’d be able to walk-on NRJ if we leave TH before 9am.

It is a red touring day due to high traffic , so i’m doing my best to schedule what we can as early as possible.

What you have is just fine.
I figure that you won’t be finished at Tusker House until after the park is open.
You’ll be able to use your FP 5 min. early, too.
Otherwise, you’ll have until 10:45 to use your Safari FP if you want to expire a trail or something before riding.

Last year when we finished eating at TH there was zero line at Safari, so our FP was a total waste. Which is why I asked. If we did get out before 9 (last year we did), would it be worth it to try and walk to NRJ? We don’t have a NRJ FP during our trip.

We had a similar experience last year - we finished up at TH by ~8:40 and were the first in line for the Safari, so we didn't need a FP. With the new attractions and FP tiering, though, I think that keeping the Safari FP and walking to NRJ is a good idea and a nice way to take care of more attractions early on. You might be able to use the walkway near Tusker House to get into Pandora - I'm not sure what time they would begin letting people into the land, though. From what I've read, the NRJ line should be pretty reasonable at opening since most folks head to FOP. And, like Robo mentioned, you'll be able to enter the FP line for the Safari until 10:45 - so you have plenty of time.

Edited to add: There are maps that will show you the path in post #5 of Robo's maps post and in post #5 of the Official Pandora thread.

Okay that makes sense. Wish we could get to NRJ without having to cross the rush for FoP!

It’ll be interesting.

I'm not sure what a red touring day is, but you really don't "need" a FP+ for Safari that early. The line would still be short. But there's nothing wrong with having one, especially since you already have one for FoP. If it were me, I'd leave Tusker House and head to NRJ. Then head back and do Safari after that, since you'll have plenty of time. It's a bit of a walk, but it's a nice park, take your time and stroll.

Completely agree with others. I'd keep as at this point. You have a FP for the three most important rides to have a FP for. If you get out of TH before 9 or within a minute or two after, definitely head to Navi before Safari. You've got about 10-15 minutes after park opens before the line really builds while everyone else runs to FoP. You can take some time to do Navi, explore Pandora, and head to Safari a little after 10 towards the end of your window. The walk isn't that bad especially if they have the back path open (when we were there they had it one way only for the first few hours).

As an alternative, you can catch the Lion King show early which is right there (there was a 9:30 when we were there last time). I know scheduling Lion King and Nemo around FP times sometimes is annoying so we like getting one done early so we're not trying to juggle times rest of day. And then head to Safari right from there. I still think Navi is your best bet as will take hours to ride otherwise, but if you'd prefer to stay in one location and not do as much walking, this would be my next option.

Sorry, but that back walkway is closed until sometime between 10:30AM and Noon, give or take.

We had 8:10 Tusker house PPO on 12/1 and were finished by 8:40 with a group of 4 and that included spending time with all the characters. The back walkway from Africa to Pandora was closed and we had a 15 minute wait for Navi by the time we walked through the crowds and got there right at 9. If you want to do the safari I would go straight there after breakfast you have a very distinct advantage for that attraction and not dealing with the crazy morning crowd. Try and refresh your plans and get a different FP+.
