We're going to be in AK one day and won't be leaving for a meal. We've never eaten at Yak & Yeti and haven't been in Tusker House since it became a buffet. Would love to hear opinions of which place to eat. We will have a picky eater (9yo) with us.

I've only tried Tusker House for breakfast, but just wanted to put in a vote for Yak and Yeti. We absolutely love the food there!

I like Yak and Yeti (and I'm a picky eater), but I'd go with Tusker House. It's a great buffet, the characters are fun, you'll find something for everyone to eat and enjoy, and the timing is all up to you (as it's a buffet).

It's one of my favorite buffets on property, too. :)

I think they only have the characters for breakfast, though, right?

I've had lunch at both and would have to vote for Yak & Yeti! It was FANTASTIC!!!!! Definitely one of my favorite restaurants on WDW property!:thumbsup2

We are just back and enjoyed Yak & Yeti but we were definitely underwhelmed by Tusker House. The kids were happy with mac and cheese and corn dog nuggets, but we found the carved meat to be very overcooked and everything else pretty bland. Definitely disappointing after reading all about all the dishes they offered.

I vote for Yak and Yeti, I have eaten at both and really liked the food at Yak and Yeti better!

We canceled our TH dinner one night last trip, so I have no experience with that. However we got a same day ADR for a late lunch at Y&Y a few days later.
Good food, Mahi Mahi was excellent, Both of our desserts ( mango pie, and fried wontons) were very good, Dim Sum basket appy was also very good. My DHs Combo Lo Mien was a little underwhelming in flavor ( needed * something* in terms of a spice, still trying to put my finger on it)

Cool Restaurant, Neat Decor.

I've eaten at Y&Y twice & it was awful both times...I wish we hadn't gone back the second time b/c it was by far our worst meal in Disney EVER. Our food was gross & the service was terrible.

We really enjoyed the lunch buffet at Tusker House. The buffet is large and has a ton of variety. The service was good and our waiter even suggested we take a few of their cookies to go for snacks later on in the day. (Our girls loved those cookies.) We will definitely eat here again. (Breakfast there is great too!) We have never tried Yak and Yeti so I can't comment on it.

We were immediately seated at Y&Y as walk-ups a couple of days before Christmas. We enjoyed the food... especially the green bean appetizer. Our picky girls (10 and 12) asked if there was a kids' menu and ended up happy with their burgers and fries.

We have eaten at both and although we enjoyed our meal at TH the Yak n Yeti was fantastic and is now a must do for us.

I would say Tusker House since it is a buffet and you have a picky eater. That way he can see it before he eats it and can get something else if he doesn't like it. I love Yak and Yeti but I remember the side choice was vegetables and half my plate was filled with vegetables and I didn't eat them.

We had lunch at TH back in November and we were 8 people ranging in ages from 6 to 67 with very different tastes from exotic to spicy to bland to familiar. We were all very happy with our meal! Never been to Y&Y but would love to try it!

Never been to Y&Y, but I can definitely recommend TH. We had lunch there last year and were pleasantly surprised - great variety and tons to choose from!

My teenage boys and I ate at Tusker this fall when we visited. We had one of the first lunch ressies (11AM ish) and there were still some breakfast foods on the buffet. The kids thought it was great to have donuts for lunch!

Sheesh.. all the food that was available and they eat the left-over donuts!

Service was great, I've got to say. And the non-donut food was pretty good, I thought. I'd certainly go there again and my boys voted that we eat lunch there when we go in 2011.

Another vote for Yak & Yeti. We had the BBQ ribs which were amazing. For dessert we had the wonton/pineapple skewers cannot remember what its called but it also was amazing.
