ugh! i have moved my adr's around so much my head is spinning. i was wondering what the consensus was about which restaurant had better food. tusker or crystal palace for breakfast. it will be me , dh and ds 17 (but still loves disney) any thoughts????

I do love them both but I have to say Crystal Palace is the top of my breakfast list! The puffed french toast alone is worth the trip to WDW I think! It's very pretty inside and the character interaction is second to none! Have a good trip! :)

One of the advantages of Crystal Palace (if you can get it) is that you can get a reservation as early as 8:05, which is an hour before the park opens. So you can walk into the park before it open, which is a special, unique treat. That's one thing to consider.

Crystal Palace is on our must do list every year since we really like the food but last year it was the first time we did breakfast. Food was great and as the previous poster mentioned we got an early ADR and snapped some nice shots of the castle without the crowds!

We have been going to Donalds breakfast at AK since it was at Restaurantosaurus - Tusker House is good but Crystal Palace would be my choice hands down from now on.
:thumbsup2

We did both back in December and loved both.

Tusker House seemed to have a much larger buffet and the food was great. The advantage to being in Animal Kingdom early is getting on the Safari Ride without much wait first thing in the morning because the ride's entrance is very close to the restaurant. You take a pic with Donald out front; Mickey, Daisy and Goofy are inside.

Crystal Palace had the basics (fruits, breads, pastries, sausage, eggs, bacon, gravy) for breakfast (plus puffed french toast - but I'm allergic to cinnamon - and the breakfast pizza - which I don't care for). However, it does have a made-to-order Omelet Bar and those were delicious. Your characters are Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, & Tigger. We checked in around 8:05am, finished around 9:10am and headed to Dumbo and only had a minimal wait. This was true of most rides at that time.

You might see which characters your kids would rather see. We will do both again, but my favorite was Tusker House. (FYI - Lunch at Tusker is wonderful also, but no characters.)

We love Tusker House, the food is great, would choose it over Crystal Palace.

However, we love the Crystal Palace breakfast in Disneyland CA, also love Goofy's kitchen there.

thanks to everyone who replied for the feedback! i think we might have to stick with crystal palace for the sheer joy of walking down an empty main st. how early should we arrive at teh park for an 8:15 ressie?

They won't let you through the gate until 7:45 am, but you can get there a little earlier than that to get through security and get in line. When you get inside MK and walk to CP, check in immediately. We had 815am ressies as well, but checked in first thing and we were seated right when they opened.

Is the picture with Donald similar to that w/Belle at Akershus, in that you get a photo folder included with the meal price?

It is similar, but unfortunately NOT included in the price of the meal. We always said we would never buy these because they are so pricey, but we broke down and bought this one. The picture was so good we couldn't pass it up. It cost close to $30 though.

For this picture on our trip in December, they took photos with our two girls, then my DH, me and our girls, and then DH, me, girls, and MIL and SIL. They gave us the large family pic as the larger 6x8, and 2 4x6 of each of the other shots. It comes in a folder with your large pic on one side and a 6x8 of Donald, Mickey, Daisy and Goofy together in a picture with their autographs on the other side. (They only took one photo of our girls at the Princess Breakfast.) In my opinion, it is nicer than the photo at Akershus because of the character photo; it's just not included with the meal. Maybe they will change that some day.

Oh, bummer. Oh well. Donald is one of our favorites, so perhaps we would be swayed too.. Thanks for the reply!:goodvibes

We really love both places. We chose Tusker over CP this year. (*mango juice*) :cool1: Also, we enjoy the characters at Tusker better than the Pooh/Tigger at CP.

There are definite advantages to doing CP for bfast. It is really awesome to get into the MK before opening time. We got some awesome pics of our girls on Main Street and with the castle and NO PEOPLE behind them! Whoo-hoo!

Early bfast at Tusker will get you to the Safari before the line gets long if you time it right. If you're bfast isn't finished before opening time, one parent can go over and get fast passes while the rest of the family finishes up bfast.

Tusker house. I have been to crystal palace and although the restaurant is very pretty, I didn't care for it much.
