Tusker House or Chef Mickey's?

We have to eat with Mickey Mouse once during our trip. :)

I've been planning on Chef Mickey's, but I've been reading how a lot of people here have been less than impressed of late. Should I consider canceling my Chef Mickey's ressie and booking Tusker house instead? The only drawback is that Minnie is not at Tusker House.

For the record, I have 3 small girls ages 7 and under, so eating with the characters is a must-do.

Thanks for your advice!

We are doing both on our upcoming trip in 2 weeks :).

DS7 really wanted to have breakfast at Chef Mickey's. A lot of the appeal for my kids is the location of Chef Mickey's, seeing the Monorail go by, getting to se Mickey and the gang, then heading off the Magic Kingdom.

This will be our first time to have breakfast at Tusker House, I think I am more excited to go there to eat than any of my kids.

For a first trip, I really think Chef Mickey's, especially if they want to see Minnie. For every negative post about Chef Mickey's I almost always see a positive post following. Some people's experiences are negative while other's are positive.

We also saw Minnie at a breakfast at Ohana and at Cape May, I am not sure if she is still there,

Happy Planning

We went to both on our last trip. We thought they were both awesome, but we did prefer Chef Mickeys. At Chef Mickeys you get the basic 5 characters that you need to see on your trip. We liked Tusker House because our little one is a huge Donald and Daisy fan. You get your picture made with Donald and Daisy visits your table. If we could only pick one it would be Chef Mickeys.

Hmm. I still can't decide, lol. Thanks for all the input so far. :)

Another question: how long do the character meals usually take? For example, if we go to Tusker house for a 1pm lunch, will it take an hour, and hour and 30 minutes, etc.? What is a conservative amount of time to allow for characters meals, plus restroom break. I'm thinking 1 hr 15 min to 1 hr 30 minutes? Is that about right?

I would plan on 2 hours, I know that I have to make multiple trips to the buffets, ( plates for kids, then my own plate) and of course at least another trip to get what was missed the in the first pass :yay:

You also want to ensure that you don't miss out on the characters when they pass by your table. I know in the case of Chef Mickey's the restrooms are in the lobby, and I think the restrooms for Tusker House are out side.

It always seems like it takes longer for our family to go to character buffets than I think it should, but I do have a large family.
