Which is better? We haven't done any.

On our AK day, we're doing dinner at Sanaa after the park closes. On our MK day (well, the one we'd pick for breakfast), I also have dinner at Ohana planned. We could also swap Ohana for Chef Mickey's dinner. Sanaa is a must do - DH LOVES it and specifically requested that we go back.

So which option is best?

Option 1:
AK day: Tusker House breakfast/Sanaa Dinner
MK day: Ohana dinner

Option 2:
AK day: Sanaa dinner
MK day: Chef Mickey breakfast/Ohana dinner

Option 3:
AK day: Sanaa dinner
MK day: Chef Mickey dinner

Our other ADRs are: Biergarten, CRT, Mama Melrose, Raglan Road, and La Hacienda de San Angel.

If we choose option 3, we'll probably add in a lunch st Chefs for one of our Epcot days.

Depending on if you have kids. If you have kids - go for Chef Mickey's. They will like it more than Ohana's.

Enjoy!

We just got back yesterday and did breakfast at all 3!! I liked the theming best at Chef Mickey, but the food at Tusker house was the best! really really good! Ohana was good, but food was very rushed, the juice was poured as we sat down, they then brought the skillet 2 seconds later, we had to wait 15 mins after eating to meet any characters!

have a good time. x

I am a big fan of doing Tusker House before the park opens! If you can get 8am ressies, you can stroll over and be on the first vehicle at Kilimanjaro when rope drops! Also a big fan of Sanaa - we try to go to different places each trip (and lately we've gone twice a year), but Sanaa for dinner and tusker house for breakfast are must do's!!
I do not care for Chef Mickey at alland will most likely never return - two strikes are enough for me - no reason to give them three when there are so many other awesome options!

We had Chef Mickey's and Tusker House for breakfast. I prefer Tusker House. I liked the atmosphere better. The kids were thrilled to meet Daisy and Goofy got all of the kids up to do a dance with some musical instruments. It was loads of fun and my DH thought the food was better than the other character meals.

I vote option 1 as well. Tusker House is a GREAT start to a day at Animal Kingdom, plus character breakfasts are fun for little ones. Also, Sanaa is AMAZING. Try to get a table by the window, because while you eat, a giraffe might just stroll right by you! It really adds to the authenticity of the atmosphere. As far as Ohana goes, the food is DELICIOUS. And seeing the resort itself is a real treat. :)

Tusker breakfast is fantastic (more of what you'd consider a big Sunday brunch), nice character interaction as well. High marks from us - we'll go back.

Chef Mickey's gets some of the lowest marks of any WDW restaurant from me and I am always surprised to see people recommend it. Admittedly, characters are great and service is great - food is Golden Coral - both in clenliness of the buffet and quality. Also, character interaction is degraded by the atmosphere (packed to the gills, to the point where you feel like you are sitting at 3 tables simultaneously).

Havent done Ohana, but would recommend the Tusker/Ohana combo.

Thanks all! I'll stick with Option 1.

I was second guessing myself because I thought we *should* do Chef Mickey's. I think the kids will enjoy Ohana - we eat out all the time at home, so they're fine at all restaurants. It'll actually be very lively for them. This is why we are only doing 2 character meals (our last trip, we did only one!).

Ohana over Chef Mickey, hands down.

The reviews are right - the food at Chef Mickey's is crap. I can't put it more politely than that. It's really REALLY bad.

The characters spent minimal time at the tables and seemed really rushed. The staff seem to believe that it is a 'premium' offering, and it's really not.

Ohana's breakfast is served at the table, but still all-u-can-eat. The waffles were fresh, the sausages were farmer type and excellent. The servers were very responsive, etc...

The characters are minimal -- Stitch scared my 13 month old son, but Lilo was fine for all :) Mickey and Pluto came around too and they were a hit with all.

Also the house juice at Ohana is fantastic.. we had several jugs of it :)

mjp - I ignored the fact that CM was the lowest rated... I shouldn't have... I know everyone has different preferences, etc.. but really... I'm embarrassed for poor Mickey to have his name attached to that place.

Golden Corral is a huge step UP... don't lump them in with Chef Mickey's :rotfl:

MyTwoPrincesses - With dd being 2 months, you may want to think twice about Raglan Road. It was excellent, but was very VERY loud if you're there at night with live music...

All depends on how the kids like commotion and noise -- my DS (13 months) was ok, DD3 was not impressed, but managed to plug her ears and sleep instead.

Hmmm, we picked it because my oldest DD loves Irish dance. My youngest will be 8 months during our trip (she's 3 months old today - need to change my siggy)!

What else would you recommend. I'm thinking we'll want to do TS on our first night. Another option is T-Rex, but I also heard that's loud.
