I'm sure it might be just what we ordered - But after reading the glowing review in this forum, I felt complelled to add my 2cents worth.....But Tusker House was the worst dining experience we had in a week of dining on Disney Property...... I had the Grilled chicken salad, which was limp, soggy and came with focaccia bread that tasted like cardboard (It was 70' outside, plus it was 12:30 so there should have been good turnover to the food, but I felt it had been sitting around in it's dressing for a couple hours). My DH had the fried chicken sandwich which came on a over-dry bun with potatoe "fries" that were equally dried-out. My Son's Smucker's PBJ sandwich was fine. The only good thing about lunch is that we got to watch the African acrobats outside while we ate - which is a wonderful show!!! All the same- I will never spend my money at Tusker House again!! Too bad you didn't have a better experience. I've never eaten there, and I don't think I'll try it anytime soon.

I hope the rest of your dining experiences were much better than that!!!

I am sorry that you had such a bad experience. The food is so expensive in WDW you would think the quality would be excellent. I have only had breakfast there and I thought it was pretty good. the cinnamon bun was great. I guess I won't try the lunch!

I have eaten at Tusker House many times and always find there food to be good and well prepared. It could have been a bad day there, I don't know, but it's always been good to me. I haven't been there in a year though, so hopefully it hasn't gone down hill.

So sorry to read that your experience wasn't a good one.

I haven't been since 2001 and was looking forward to going again in 2004 to have their fried chicken plate(this was wonderful and enough for mom & I to share w/green beans and mashed potatoes)...but I see it is no longer on the menu and what they now offer is the sandwich you didn't have much luck with.

Thank you for your review...I appreciate all reviews...the good & the not so good!

Colleen :)

I didn't think the chicken salad there was so great either. That was March 2002. The last time we went, March 2003, I had the salmon which was really good!

Sorry to hear about your experience. We eat at Tusker House every trip and have always enjoyed it, the latest time being this past January. Try the fried chicken - that has never failed us yet!

It's such a shame that you had a disappointing meal at Tusker House. I've only tried it once - in late Feb. of this year. My sister and I split an order of rotisserie chicken and green beans. It was absolutely delicious. That's probably what I'll order again if I ever go back. I hope your other dining experiences were good ones! :D

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. We've been there twice and have enjoyed it both times. It's not as good as most sitdown places but we found it much better than any other fast food. My veggies were slightly overcooked but actually GETTING veggies at counter service was such a novelty I didn't mind!

I was disappointed, though, that the menu was less interesting than it was the first time I visited in September 2001.

Sorry you didn't like Tuskers. Since Flame Tree went seasonal, Tuskers has become our favorite AK restaurant. I am reminded of a story (my kids are now making faces).

I went to a restaurant called Mr. Wings with some friends. One ordered a fish sandwich. She was disappointed. But why order fish at a place that specializes in chicken wings?

The moral of my story (and my stories ALWAYS have a moral) is next time, try the rotisserie chicken. I don't think you will be disappointed.

;)
