I've seen similar threads for Boma where someone asks if the menu will appeal to the less adventurous, meat & potatoes sort of person. . .and comments furthermore about the unique spices and flavors of the meats, specifically.

I'm curious about Tusker House. I looked at the general listings found on the menu. . .

Please comment on the parts of the buffet (if any) that would appeal to my 'meat and potatoes' husband. . .

Are the meats seasoned with exotic spices? (for example)

Has anyone has gone somewhat reluctantly and were pleasantly surprised?

My husband is a good sport and knows that this ADR is a good choice for me as a vegetarian. (afterall, I will have to sit through Le Cellier with him later in the week! HA!) . . .but, I may still consider other options if his choices are limited.

Can't wait to hear!
Thanks!:)

I am a very picky "meat and potatoes" type eater and I love Tusker House. There is a meat carving station that has prime rib and pork loin - I love them both and always go for seconds. They are not overly seasoned, but they are delicious in my picky opinion (my DH and picky girls enjoy them too.) There is also baked chicken. They have mashed potatoes and a pretty good brown gravy. They also have a seasoned wedge potato that I enjoy very much.

The kids buffet has chicken nuggets (I think) corn dog nuggets and PB&J sandwiches on the kids buffet - adults can enjoy them too. There are different types of cold cuts and cheeses, and I love their ceasar salad.

The desserts are pretty good. We always grab lots of cookies (at the waiters suggestion) to take as snacks later on. Those cookies are pretty darn good.

Tusker House lunch (and breakfast) are must eats for our family when we go to Disney. I'm looking forward to the character lunch when we go next. Tusker House is one of our favorite places because we love the buffet. Le Cellier is number 1. You will enjoy it as much as your DH.

Enjoy your trip!

I think I'm fairly picky. I love Tusker House. They definately have things that are not spicy. They also have things that are more adventurous than I would eat.

I think it's got a good balance so that everyone will find something they can eat.

Just so you know-I find pepper too spicy.

Thank you for the response & helpful report----this is great news! I think I'm going to stick with this ADR. (bonus: took the 1:00 seating so as to get the reserved Finding Nemo seats!) . . .hey, if you can tell my husband that there is meat, potatoes AND cookies-----he's sold! I'll be hanging out by the samosas, chutneys & couscous salads! :rolleyes1

Squirrel:

Thank you, too! I appreciate hearing about the 'good balance'----something I'd expect in a buffet-----but still, comforting knowing we're at different ends of the spectrum. I'm definitely looking forward to trying Tusker House! (worst case scenario I suppose, DH will have to doubleback to Flame Tree!)

Welcoming more responses and insights! Please share!

In 2008 when I was booking ADR's I noticed that TH was the only menu I could find that had PB&J on the lunch menu. I wasn't wasting a CS meal on those pre-packaged ones they serve.

I had to book! I love my PB. I honestly didn't think I could make it through 2 weeks without some.

Oooh, I better go pack some of those little PB packages. It's so hard to find PB at WDW! I leave in 2 days (my ticker is wrong, added a room only and we are spending the night in Seattle).

I believe they had 2 different kinds of soup at lunch. I wish I could help with the lunch more, but I have only been the one time in 2008.
