Tusker House character meal at AK: breakfast vs lunch?

The character meal at the Tusker House is only during breakfast. We enjoyed it. Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Mickey Mouse, and Goofy appeared in safari costumes. The food was good and they take your picture before you go in that you may purchase. We have had lunch also. It is a buffet with African food. The seafood gumbo was very good. We enjoyed both meals.

characters are now at Breakfast and Lunch. We LOVE the food at lunch but have only done it in the past when there were no characters, going to do dinner this April. Guess it depends if you want breakfast foods or lunch with some African inspired dishes? The Malaysian curry chicken and basmati rice were so so good! Samosas were yummy too! There were plenty of more basic things too

We are doing the breakfast (8:05am). We will likely get out at least a little before the park opens at 9 and thus get a head start before the crowds are let in!

Do they still do the thing at lunch where if you eat lunch at tusker house at a certain time you can get a ticket for reserved seating at the nemo musical?

Now that there are characters at lunch, the Nemo ticket has been discontinued. Tusker House used to be a must do for us at lunch until last time. Now that the characters are there at lunch, it's a long wait to get seated and the place is a mad house. Not what we are looking for after a busy morning touring. Our upcoming trip in two weeks is the first in years that doesn't include a stop at Tusker. Too bad, we love the food, but the characters ruin lunch. By the way, we really enjoyed our character breakfast at Tusker House. It was quiet and tasty. That'd be my choice.
