We have booke dtusker house buffet for the day we are at Animal Kingdom. since its the only sit down place in there...is it any good?
Would there be another suggestion for that day?

You didn't mention what meal. We did it for breakfast and had a good time, there was good food there. If you book it for anytime between their opening time and just after 9 you can get into the park before rope drop.

We had dinner there and thought it was great. Fantastic variety of food and gorgeous desserts!! We're definitely eating there next time we're at AK. BTW, I'll be reviewing it in my dining report soon :)

I had lunch there on my last trip. I was a big fan of the old counter-service menu, so I was dissapointed when it because a table-service buffet, but I was NOT dissapointed in the meal!

Tusker House is still my favorite place to eat at AK. In fact, the buffet makes it even better - lots of choices, most of which are simply delicious.

I took a few pics of the buffets while I was there:

Scroll down to the section titled "Tagrel Meet: Lunch Chat (Live) at Tusker House."

Thanks! I am going to look into this now!

I believe that the new Yak & Yeti restaraunt is also a sit down place. You might also want to look into it. I believe that it has gotten good reviews. Have a great time. :cool1:

We plan on making a ADR for our Animal Kingdom day for breakfast. I heard its a good buffet from some posters on here.

Tusker House over Yak & Yeti. We did breakfast at Tusker and it was good. We did lunch at Yak, it was OK, but not worth the money.

My family absolutely loved it. We had a late lunch. The service was as good as the food.

We looked at the menu..its Asian style food....no good for my husband!

We did Tusker House in early December for lunch. It was my favorite buffet of the trip... and we did A LOT (Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, Hollywood & Vine, 1900 Park Fare, and Akershus...well it is sort of a buffet).

The salmon is to DIE for!

Lunch was quite good but I need to try something other than 16 samosas.

It was by far one of the best and most original meals we had the whole week we were there. We went for lunch.

:rotfl:

Those samosas are terrific!

Add me to the list of folks who give this place a thumbs up. Just got back a few days ago and Tusker House lunch was probably my favorite meal of the trip. The selections were geared towards African (roasted meats), Middle Eastern (couscous, hummus and lavosh) and Indian (samosas and curried rice) cuisines, but nothing that was too unusual or spicy (although those samosas had a bit of a kick). They also had basic rotisserie chicken, green beans and mashed potatoes, a throwback to what they used to serve when it was counter service.
There was a huge variety of desserts - all delish! We also found the kids section to be good - make your own PBJ, mac and cheese, roasted chicken and corn dog nuggets.

C'mon people - nothing more needs to be said than that they serve CHOCOLATEY BREAD ;)

My family really enjoyed our lunch there! My picky 5-year old ate more there than anywhere else on our trip!

It was outstanding!!! We went for breakfast last week and the food was the best we had the entire 8 days we were there. The mango salsa that was served beside the carved ham was to die for....the chocolately bread was good too. Definately will go back for lunch or dinner next time!!!!!
