Tusker House breakfast around park open time

If I have a 9:10 ADR and AK opens at 9:00, what time will they let me into the park? I've read that MK doesn't check your ressie for pre-park opening dining entry, but the other parks (including AK) do. I also read that Tusker House pretty much takes you first come first serve, regardless of ADR time, so I'd like to get there as early as possible. And, I read that AK will not let you in during the 20 minutes prior to rope drop. So, we couldn't get in at say 8:45 for a 9:10 ADR. My question is, will they let me in at say 8:05 or 8:15?

I'm still trying to get an earlier time, hopefully I can. I'd prefer to be done breakfast at rope-drop to avoid some lines. I also have a 8:05 ADR for Tusker House, but it's on the last day of our trip and I really wanted to do MK that day. I can't decide if I want to change my days around and do the 8:05 ADR, or keep my days the same and do the 9:10.

this is also the only time i could get and wondering the same thing?:confused3

They let us in at the right hand gate whilst everyone else was queueing. Can't remember our exact reservation time, but it was somewhere around the same as yours.

What time did you get in?

I don't know how much this will help you. We had an 8:25 ADR for Tusker House. We arrived at AK gate before 8:00. It was about 7:55 before they let any of us in. They did have a list with names and if you weren't on the list, offering an ADR # didn't satisfy them at first. The group just ahead of us in the line was not on the list. After a few minutes of story (no way of knowing if it was true) they were allowed to enter the park. It is true that once we walked back to Tusker House it was first come first in despite the fact that we were about 20 minutes ahead of our ADR time. Since you have an ADR after the park opening time I'm not sure if your name would be on that early list.

We had 8:05 time and they checked our name and we went in and then had to wait..it wasn't a long wait, but, a wait...

This question never really got answered in this thread. I'm curious too as we have a 9:15 ADR on a day when the park opens at 9. Will we be allowed in early? Do we need to be in order to make it in time?

It was raining the day we went. The park was empty. We didn't bother getting there early. We got to the gate right around our reservation time and went straight back. There was only one turnstile open taking tickets and no one else in sight. So, I didn't exactly have a regular experience.

The rain had stopped by the time we were done eating and the park stayed empty! Best day of our trip!

Sorry I can't help more.

I know this is a little off topic but for those of you who had an ADR before the Park opened, did you drive or take the bus. I've read that the parking lot is not open early enough to get to your ADR on time if it is early. We have one for 8:10 on a day when the park opens at 9. Staying at Kidani and it would just be so easy to jump in our car rather than waiting for the bus.

I am still searching for an answer to this question. I also have a 9:15 ADR on a day the park opens at 9. What experiences have others had with a 9:15 ADR? Also, just wondering what would be the best ride to pick up a fast pass for on the way to Tusker House?

I've seen Breakfast entrances set up for the other parks, so I would think they had one at AK. If you get there before 9am, look for a cast member with a clipboard. You'd be on the ADR list and I'd think they would allow you in to walk to Africa for your ADR.

Best ride to pick up a FastPass would be Kilimanjaro Safari. It would take too long to get one at Expedition Everest and get back to Tusker House. Kilimanjaro Safari is steps away from Tusker House.

they let the crowds in a few minutes early into the Oasis near Discovery Island where the opening show is. Last time we were there a restaurant employee was on the left hand side checking ADRs and letting people in. You probably won't be let in until 20 minutes before your ADR but you can always try.

seems the OP wants to know if she will be let in at 8:05 or so with a 9:15 ADR. if guests are seated almost an hour before their ADR then whats the purpose of having ADR'S. but disney has been known to bend rules. i just think an hour ahead of time is quite too soon. so honestly i would not be surprised if they did or didn't. it might depend on the season. if it's slow and the restaurant is not fully booked you may get in. if it's fully booked it's a crapshoot.

Last year we had a 9:05 Tusker ADR, we arrived at the point where they take your name at 8:30 and were told we could not go in until 15 minutes before out ADR. This was the only park that this happened at.

We typically have 8:05 ADR's so this was a first for us. I have a feeling everything will depend on who is working that day as it most likely varies from CM to CM. HTH.

We had a 9:00 ADR with a 9:00 park opening. There was a CM at the front gate with a clipboard with all morning ADR's on it. We just gave her our name, she marked us off, and we entered the park. It took a while to walk to Tusker House and we did have to read a map since we'd never been to AK before. No problems getting in. We did have to wait a while at the outdoor tables to get into breakfast, but we always arrived at ADRs early anyway. We didn't get any FP's at AK, just walked around and did a few things in the AM before heading to EPCOT for the afternoon. We know we missed out on a lot at AK & plan to spend more time there next trip.
