Just came back. Found a great bargain at AK, Tusker House. Get the meal plan. I was tired of hamburgers and because of the heat only wanted a small meal so I ordered a kids drumstick meal with the meal plan. Was only about $6 and I got a small soda, drumstick, apple sauce and mashed potatoes (that were awesome). Also got coupons to get another soda or powerade or water and ice cream or popcorn for later. The coupons had to be used the same day. Since the ice cream and soda would have cost me about $5 the meal only cost about $1. Also another hint at mgm they had a kids meal with grilled chicken and vegetables. This was also very tasty.

Do you remember exactly where at MGM they had this kid's meal? I don't eat much at a meal, and often want the kids size, but most places just have chicken nuggets or hot dogs, stuff they figure kids would like. Grilled chicken and vegies sounds great!

It was the place next to star tours. I can't remember the name but they sell the icees there. If you are facing star tours it would be on the left hand side. The grilled chicken comes in a mickey mouse shape dish with brocoli, celery and carrots. They also give you ranch dressing to dip it in. Also comes with a small soda and applesauce. It states it is for children but I still ordered it. I can't remember where else I saw this meal but I was hesitant to order it not knowing what it was but it was just the right size for me.

Yes, it's a wonderful deal! It's also available at the pizzafari at AK as well. They have it for kid's meals but also for adult meals as well. The adult price is $11.99 and also comes with the meal plus certificates for one popcorn or ice cream AND one bottled water or soda that you can redeem later in the day at any cart.

There is also a children's grilled chicken dinner w/ yellow rice served at the outdoor fast food restaurant next to the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground. A friend ordered it, and it looked quite yummy!

Are they about the same amount of food as a McDonalds happy meal, or more? I know my DD12 likes drumsticks, but a really small one would not be enough food for her big appetite. Is it a decent size? How about the children's grilled chicken- what piece of the chicken does it come with?

My DD and I shared the adult meal at Flame Tree BBQ last year. It was plenty of food for both of us and the extra snack & drink really made it worth the $$.

Agreed the meal deal is a...well, a good deal! :flower:

However, someone posted a day or two ago that a CM at Flame Tree BBQ said it was being discontinued. I hope that was wrong info but did anyone else hear of this recently?

The CS place near Star Tours is the Backlot Express... we tried it for the first time last week and loved it! I know the one near Honey I Shrunk the Kids but I can't remember what it's called...

The grilled chicken salad for kids at the American adventure is good too. My ds(1) loves lettuce with ranch dressing. The big circle of the plate had lettuce, with 4 or 5 strips of cold grilled chicken. The 2nd circle had ranch dressing. The 3rd circle either had crackers or applesauce.

I have had the grilled chicken kids meal at Backlot Express. If you want a frozen coke with it, they'll just charge you the difference between the small coke that comes with it and the frozen one.

It will only be my BF and myself. I can't eat alot at once and plan to order kids meals whenever we go to a CS. My question is, do I need to have a child present when ordering? If so, am I not going to be able to order a kids meal?!?

I don't know if it's necessary or not. I always pretend the meal is for someone else by saying "I'll get her..." or "she wants..." However, I don't really know if this is necessary, and I'd rather not pretend if I didn't have to. So anyone who's ordered kids' food for themselves, can you just say "I'll have..."?

You absolutely can! Many people go up and order for their whole party, especially during busy times when the counters get quite crowded. They don't need any proof that you have kids. It's like ordering a Happy Meal for yourself at Mickey D's! I know I do it!

Any one can order a kids meal! Unfortunatley, my kids never do, but this is due to the fact that most of the meals consist of chicken nuggets or hotdogs. How many times in a week can they stand that? So no real gripes here.

Good to see that they are giving a different variety now.

A good site to check out the different menu's is at allearsnet.comI have used this site to research places to eat and it has saved us time once we go to the parks.
