Tusker House and Yak and Yaki

We ate appetizers at Y&Y in October and it was okay- DH liked the dim sum basket. We went again in December & the service and food were so awful that we will never return. Our waiter brought out our app and meals at the exact same time...then we never saw him again as our dishes piled up and drinks emptied. The dim sum basket was tiny, the glazed chicken was fatty and dry & the rice was gross. We are very easy to please, but the food/service were beyond deplorable for the price we paid.

We had a similar experience at Y&Y last April.

I thought the spring roll apps were good but the rest of the meal was no different than panda garden at the local mall food court.:snooty:

did anybody else laugh when they read Yak and Yaki? haha I thought somebody ate there and hated it HAHA

well, I have eaten at both....Y&Y was enjoyable, but given the choice, I would go back to Tusker House (and have).....so many choices, and so good! I loved the mini desserts! You can taste so many!!! and then go back for more!!! HAH

We ate at Yak & Yeti back in August on my mom's birthday trip and LOVED it! My parents were with me (and they are VERY snobbish in the food department) and both of them raved. (Plus, my dad got some kind of beer he hadn't seen since he was stationed in Thailand in the late '60s...so he was very happy!)

Just ate at Yak and Yeti for dinner in December and was a tad bit dissapointed with the overall food and the menu choices and all. It was Ok but not the great dinning experience I was expecting here. I think I would have preffered to try tusker house...next trip I guess! Would go again to Y and Y as a lunch but not a dinner.

We ate at Yak and Yeti in October, and DH loved it so much that it was the ONLY restaurant that he asked to go back to on our January trip. He especially loved the steak and shrimp and the green bean appetizer.

I gotta say, the green beans are our favorite food in all of disney!!!

The food can go either way. I thought the mahi mahi seemed like it was from the freezer, already coated. But the sauce that went with it made the dish worth while. The other day, I had the steak and shrimp. Ok, that was the BEST steak I've had in disney, including Le Cellier. It was tender and had a great flavor. My dd had beef and broc, and it was decent, but not worth writing home about. Funnily, my dd has decided to reject ever eating Disney's counter service chicken, but loved the counter services honey chicken. (which is honey sauce over disney's standard fare chicken nuggets. go figure.)

I had lunch at the Yack and Yeti right after it opened... fabulous decor and great food. I had the crispy honey chicken (not sized to split)
