Tusker House and Boma on the same day?

Having a debate on where to eat on our AK day. Trying to decide if it's too much to do TH and Boma on the same day.

We're definitely doing Boma that night, mostly because we want to check out AKL that night. Never been to AKL and think it would be fun to spend an hour or two checking out the resort and possibly staying for the night vision activity.

I'm considering TH for a late breakfast (10:30) so it will be an early lunch as well. Then Boma for a 5:30 dinner.

The other option is a Rainforest Cafe lunch at about 11:30.

Will the food be too similar if we do TH and Boma on the same day? We've never done either. I know I'll like the food...not so sure about my family. Still there's enough safe food that I think they'll be happy. not sure about happy enough to do it twice on the same day though.

On the other hand, we haven't eaten in a Rainforest cafe in many years (long enough ago that my kids don't remember it). We do have Rainforest Cafes all over the place and we go regularly to wander in the gift shop. We're just not usually in a "splurge" mood when we're there so don't eat there. My daughter liked the looks of it.

Thoughts?

(and I'm not worried about the quantity of food or having 2 TS meals in the same day - we're usually quite happy to eat again come dinnertime).

The breakfast offerings are different enough from dinner that I don't think it would be an issue. I certainly wouldn't do lunch at TH and then dinner at Boma. Whatever you decide- Enjoy!

If you decide to go to Tusker House, i would definitely do breakfast (so make your ADR for earlier than 10am) and skip lunch for the reason you just indicated. Food is similar to Boma.

This is pretty much our standard for our AK day.

We do the earliest reservation for TH though and then do Boma at about 5:30 (if the park closes at 5). Generally a snack in between is all that we have ever needed (though sometimes DH forces me to share ribs with him at Flame Tree). While we aren't quite Pooh sized people, we are eaters, so if being hungry in between is a concern, take it from me, it shouldn't be a problem.:rotfl:

Hahahahaha...I don't expect to get hungry :) We still have all those snacks to work through!

To be honest though, the only reason DDP is enough for us is through sharing BOTH CS and TS meals. Last trip we only shared CS meals and there were time times when I wanted more credits, particularly at breakfast. It probably wasn't a bad thing to not have quite as much food - but I really didn't feel 1 CS and 1 TS meal a day was enough. Don't like that there isn't coverage for breakfast too. Forces us to share to stretch our credits and while we are happy to share, it's nice to each be able to choose our own dishes.

Agreeing with the previous posters-as long as you're doing breakfast and dinner, it should be just fine :)

I never hear anyone talk about Boma for breakfast. Such a variety of things to try out. Something different than many other breakfast buffets that are just the same food in a different restaurant. We end every trip by going to Boma for breakfast before driving home. Have stayed at AKL and AKV and eaten at Boma for both breakfast and dinner and breakfast was by far better.

We did an early lunch at TH and late dinner at Boma and we enjoyed it. Buffets were par for the course one trip as I took my parents who are picky but could always find something at a buffet. My kids are picky too. I didnt mind it much as although some food was similar, I was able to get enough of variety.

We did TH for an 8am breakfast and then Boma for a 6pm dinner. We did not find them similar at all, really.

Go for it and enjoy!

Mostly because unless u have a car or stay at AKL, Boma breakfast is really hard to get to. Boma dinner makes more sense for us because we'll spend some time checking out AKL afterwards. Giving up park time (or getting up crazy early) and dealing with the transportation hassle in the morning just for Boma breakfast doesn't sound worth it to me.

Then again, I like your thoughts of doing it on departure day. Our last trip we actually travelled to Epcot, walked through to the Boardwalk Bakery, then back to Pop in perfect time to catch our ME....just for breakfast from the bakery. And yes, it was worth it :)
