I'm planning to make an ADR for Tusker House one morning of our upcoming trip and was thinking that 8:45 would be a good time for us. Then today I started thinking about the RD crowd and wondering how we'd get through it. Don't you have to go down the same path where the crowd will be to get to TH? I've been to AK for RD once before, and it seems like the crowd was pretty thick along that path, which is relatively narrow to begin with. Is there another way for people eating at TH to get around it? Would I be better off scheduling breakfast a little later? I don't think anyone is going to want to do it earlier.

Remember you should arrive about 15 minutes before your ADR...That would put you at the park around 8:20-8:30...Make sure you go on a day they do not have EMH in the morning...You will be one of the only people on the path if the park opens at 9:00...You should be fine as long as it is not an early open day.

We always get the 8:05...It is a pain getting there so early but really worth it...It works out great for our fmaily now that the breakfast is by the safari...The safari is only a few feet away...We finish eating just in time for rope drop...It is such a great time of day to see the animals...They are all out and active.

Believe me--I know that earlier would be better, but it's going to be the morning after a late night (Spectro & Wishes) towards the end of the trip. I just think it's too much for my 3, 4 & 5-year-old grandchildren. I'd be much more inclined to do a later breakfast--get there for RD or shortly after, FP Safari, eat, & ride. At that point, I'd probably send my adult DS to EE to get FP for the grownups (except me). So I'm thinking if not 8:45, then maybe around 9:30  I'm not an AK fan, so it's hard for me to get very interested in planning that day :sad2:

You may be better off doing a 9:45...Like you said you can grab your passes and then eat.... Maybe do the safari first thing when the park opens at 9:00....Then head over to eat.

we did the safari and then breakfast it was really nice that way as we saw the animals early on. i had a 2 year old with me and just gave her a cereal bar when she got up to keep her going

I laughed when I saw your thread! We had an early ADR at H&V and had to try to get through the rope drop crowd to get to it. We tried explaining "excuse us, we have a breakfast reservation" and people continued to physically block us. We finally had to get a CM from one of the stores to help us through!!

So, I don't have an answer for you-but that is how it went for us!!:)

I think that's probably my best option. Thanks

That's what I was afraid of. 8:45 sounded like such a good plan...then yesterday I suddenly thought "OMG, ROPE DROP" :scared1: On to Plan B ;)
