Turns out my ADR is during a MVMCP?!

Ah, I see. So how does the system know that you should have access? Is it if you have your party tickets linked, or do you have to call to make a reservation during party time?

The system doesn't know. That's why they tell YOU that you need a special ticket if you're going to dine with them that night. How this will work the actual night of the party is yet to be seen, since this is the first year they are "cutting off" regular day guests 30-45 min before the party starts.

Yup.

- It states it on the front page of the restaurant with bookable hours as shown in screenshot.

- Right before you hit reserve it says:

You are making a reservation during an event which requires the purchase of a separately priced event admission ticket (e.g., Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party). Guests with theme park admission must purchase the special event admission ticket to enter or remain in park during the special event. Note: The number of tickets available is limited for special events. Events may sell out early. Special event tickets are valid only during specific event dates and hours. Tickets are nontransferable and nonrefundable.

- Email confirmation says:

Magic Kingdom Park

Your reservation occurs during a special event, which requires a separate admission ticket for park entry. Please ensure all members of your dining party hold tickets for this event.

- On top of that, one year I booked thinking I might go to party but had not bought tickets. Disney called me to tell me that I would need purchase tickets to utilize the reservation.

Not to beat a dead horse...but just to be clear and save others the frustration...it only (apparently) consistently does those things on the website. Not on the app. Not on the phone automated system. Not with phone CM (that I spoke to). On all those other methods whether and what and when you got a warning was hit and miss.

I've always wondered what they do about folks who made their ADRs before party dates were announced & therefore never saw an alert.

I think odds are the park hours were already listed at 7 pm and nothing books after it. And if they now block any ADR between the pre-party dinner and party dinner then one should not be able to book that time frame.

Certainly for the Christmas party the hours are listed as ending at 7.

I know because I am going then, and I knew at 11 months which days were likely party days.

Actually, if you have an apple iphone, it will not show it on the mde app on those devices (at least i think). On my android, the mde app will display thay adr's after 6:15 pm on mvmcp will require a special event ticket. At least thats the experience ive had with me and my wifes phone.

If I remember correctly, there weren't any available ADRs for MK restaurants past 6:00 or 6:30 for those dates the park was closing at 7:00. I know I was checking for BoG for our party date for a couple weeks before it became available.

Thanks for the clarification. :) When I tried reserving online it didn't even give anything past 6:30 as an option, so I didn't know if reservation times showed up differently for people with linked tickets or something. I will be getting party tickets for one of the nights, and while I wouldn't use party time to do a sit down meal past 7:00pm, I thought it was strange it wasn't even going to let me have that option. It may have changed by now though, I haven't checked again....
