Turning Park Hoppers in for APs? Need info please!

Has anyone ever done this? Here's my dilemma:

We have 1 day left on a park hopper and I got 5 day hoppers (no plusses) from the Disney Store a while ago. Completely thought with time we have that would be plenty.

Now I am re-doing the schedule and it looks like to do what I'd like to do I need one more park day on my hopper passes.

Since that would give me 7 Park Hopper days, AND we have a trip coming up next year, I am wondering if I go to Guest Services at my resort or at a park for my December trip (before we enter any parks) if I could turn in what I have left on those hoppers and apply that towards getting an AP.

Has anyone ever done this?
Is it done at all?
If it's done, can I do it at Resort Guest Services at BC? Or do I have to go to Downtown Disney or a Park Guests Services?

It would just be easier to take care of this at my resort since my plane lands at 7:35 pm and I won't even get to the resort before 8:30pm and we plan to hit the parks first thing the next day.

Appreciate any information that can be provided.

From what I've heard, you can only use 1 park ticket to exchange for another park ticket.

I could be wrong, but you can only use an unused ticket to upgrade to annual pass. So if your 5day hopper is 1 ticket, and not been used before, than you should be able to upgrade.


But I've been wrong before.

You can only apply one ticket, used or unused, towards the purchase of an AP. In your case, your most beneficial move would be to upgrade the new 5 day PH to an AP.

Resorts cannot do transactions relating to AP's as they do not sell them. You will need to go to any Guest Relations location at the parks or DTD.

OK, how late is Guest Relations open on a Friday night? My flight arrives at 7:30pm and I figure I won't be able to physically be in front of any GR window till probably 9pm.

I am at BCV. I will have a car.

Would it be easiest for me to go to International Gateway, seeing as Epcot is open until 9:30pm?

Or should I just drive over to DD?
